He played in pub bands with brother Cliff and went Acoustic in the mid sixties. He performed all over Europe and lived in Holland for 12 years.Dave formed ''The Deighton Family Band'' and made a few albums, one of which became ''album of the year'' on American Public Radio.The band performed on most of the major festivals. Dave retired from gigging and went to study lutherie at Leeds College Of Music to achieve H.N.D./M.I.T.
