Everything from ground-breaking dance music, through electronica, indie rock and thrash metal to mainstream indie, pop and electro folk is there. Whatever kind of music is happening where you live, is what we are going to bring to the party. If you're in a band we need your cds to make the mix complete. If you're a venue we need your gig listings for our 'what's on' guide. All in all, this is THE local bands show for the area. We don't care where you're from, and unlike other stations we WILL play your music- but only if you send it in!.
Contact us at [email protected] - What are you waiting for? - DO IT NOW. And if you're simply a fan of a band, get in touch and tell us who we should be featuring! We're out and about with our tape recorder capturing live sessions and interviews all the time.

Sing along
Join us in a singalong with our theme tune!
"All aboard The Fox's Den"
____________________
All aboard, and here we go.
We're all aboard a pirate ship
and here we go and all aboard.
You'd better watch the Capn's whip.
And here we go and all aboard.
We're setting off to sea
and we're singing songs and playing tunes
for you and you and me.
And so its 'anchors aweigh!'
and steady me boys
and if you want to sail with us
you'd better shut up and listen
or we'll make you walk the plank.
And so, it's all aboard and here we go
and all aboard and here we go.
We're all aboard the pirate ship:
The Fox's Den.
The Den Crew
All aboard the Skylark! The Fox's Den is a 'relatively' planned roller coaster ride of classic 'zoo-radio' madness, and besides Bill and Jools it features a random cast of characters along the way. Including:
'Captain' Bill
Not only the string bass player in a band of pirate rockers, Bill is also a web technician and a language expert (besides being a seasoned 'radio guy'). He's got the style, wit and charm to segue between thrash rock to celtic folk, 'almost' seamlessly
'Skipper' Jools
Another bass player, ex-roadie and record label owner, Jools has been hosting unsigned bands podcasts for years. He's out and about with the mobile studio recording interviews and sessions.
'The Dark Lord': Dom Smith
Dom is creator and editor of Sphere Mag and will be bringing a regular update of the alternative scene around the region. He is your spirit guide to everything Goth, Industrial and Alternative in the North of England, covering a wide range of musical genres. Every week he will bring you some of the best and brightest stars on the Northern scene. This is our campaign to bring dark culture in the North back to life, kicking and screaming in the most wonderful way possible. Get in touch: [email protected] Visit: www.spheremag.co.uk Add as a freind: www.myspace.com/spheremaguk
'First Mate' Matt
Matt has been producing and making music for years and knows just about everyone in the business around York. He's our newest recruit to the crew and he's always on hand to give his very special views on the tracks we play as well as bringing in cds that he has picked up from bands in town.
John Chapman
John is our resident 'what's on' expert. He'll bring you news of everything that's worth seeing in the York area courtesy of www.yorknights.com Check out his 'pick of the week' to hear everything that's worth seeing. Plus, occasionally he does a 'mini session' with local acts to whet your appetite.
Laverne
He's the resident showbiz and gossip expert, but prefers musicals and disco to heavy metal. Definitely a 'friend of Judy' and also a bit on the dim side.
Bernard
Every den needs a caretaker, and Bernard is on hand to make sure that everythings shipshape and Bristol fashion and he pops in now and then to cast his judgement on the music.
Uncle Reggie
Reginald Merryweather is a vetran broadcasting legend and his surreal, offbeat interuptions and rambling interludes bring a touch of madness to the proceedings. Every so often, we give him a five minute slot to tune in his home-made 'magic' radio.
Joan
Good old Joan. Where would a den be without a cleaner? She's always there with her can of pledge, Australian wit, biscuits and her outspoken opinions.
Hope
Our very own 'scene kid' - she's the teenager who makes sure that Bill and Jools know who's hot and who's definitely not!
Heavy Metal Chris
You've heard him a thousand times. He's the guy who does our main jingle and tells you all to "SHUT UP AND LISTEN!" (he's actually the lead singer from metal band: Kill To Gain)
Health and Safety Woman
Like everything these days, there's always an official H&S person looking over the proceedings, and the den is no exception. Whenever there's a loud or possibly disturbing track about to be played, she'll let you know.
