Artifex

DJ Artifex... It all started a number of years ago when i got a CD mixer for Christmas but back then all I would listen to was Hip-Hop. I used to skate and i think for the same christmas i got a Kizer Team video wich featured a track which simply blew my mind... Id never heard this music before but I loved it so I found out the name and it turned out to be "Dirty Beats" by Roni Size, the first Drum n Bass tune I ever heard and the first of many more to come. As soon as I new the name of the tune i went into Crash records to see what they had to offer and they sold me Roni Size & Reprazent; In the Mode. From then on i was on the hunt for more and more DnB tunes by the likes of Pendulum, Fresh, Hype, etc... to play on the CD mixer. The movie Human Traffic was another influence on my love for DnB, with the track Stalker by Aphrodite sparking off a new passion for wibbly wobbly bassloops... It wasn't until the summer of 2006 that i finally bought a set of decks, something I'd been meaning to do for years but never got round to. These were belt driven Numark TT1600's with a simple 2 channel mixer, and around the same time as buying these I started putting together a soundsystem which has led to me hosting all sorts of parties all over the place. I now have a pair of Numark TTX1's, some Citronic CD decks, a 4 channel mixer and an ever growing stack of JumpUp DnB vinyls...Just wana send a shout to all my crew n all the heads reppin the scene, biggin up all the Leeds Fam n Radio Frequency team, all the ravers n listeners, far too many names to mention, salute to you lot. Finally a massive massive shout to my princess, Becki, and a big big thankyou for always being there, love you xXx
