2008 Pulse Weekly/Push Play Original Music Competition Winner
The journey began in '03 on the campus of East Stroudsburg University, where lead singer Victor Solis and bassist Chris Penyak met and founded the band "Heart of Walls." After two years of struggling the band disbanded, leaving both Victor and Chris searching for more. They regrouped with a new set of players and began again in the middle of '05. With a new found drive for music, "Solace" was born, and they placed as WSBG/PBC Battle of the Bands finalists in both '05 and '06. Yet even after their successful rebuilding, they again found themselves in need of a new lineup. "We found ourselves in this place of rolling the boulder up the hill, just to watch it roll back down," remembers Victor. With a full schedule and a newfound vacancy, the boys turned to long time friend and drummer Dan Bogdan. Dan, who had been playing professionally in and around Louisiana for the last six years, stepped into the role. With the addition of Dan in mid '07, the boys hit the road. Recent credits include '07 Winner of the Psi Chi sponsored East Stroudsburg University's Battle of the Bands and Sharp Magazine's December '07 Featured Artist. Even with these accomplishments they still felt something was missing. Now with the addition of guitarist Chris Troxell in summer of '08 that void has been filled. Time to keep doing what they love best. Rockin tunes for every available ear.
