Karloff Rekordings was launched in Cologne by Falko Brocksieper and Michaela Grobelny aka. Mia in early 2003, as a subdivision of their mainstay Sub Static Records. The approach was (and still is) to propose new and venturous ideas of something that came to be classified as 'minimal house', a term that mostly fails to represent the advanced artistic developments and wide cultural qualities happening in this branch of electronic music.
In times of over-easy production techniques and unified sound aesthetics the aspiration of Karloff Rekordings is to cover up tracks and artists that contribute to the vision of keeping this music nice & interesting, neglecting to follow any consensus of sound. Karloff tracks are danceable, yet considering this as a vague syntax, rather than the main focus.
