About Me

Michael Madill started playing the cello and the piano when he was four years old via his music teacher mom. Then, fearing a lack of rock in his repertoire, he started playing the guitar and the bass guitar when he was thirteen or so, and got his first 4-track recorder, synth and drum machine when he was fifteen. From then on he has always recorded and produced music. He got into sequencing via mntY and mccarroll, and screamed his head off around the midwest from 1990-1994 . He also served a stint as a cellist in a goth band and opened for Chris Connelly. He played an acoustic guitar onstage at a big folk festival in upstate New York. Later he played bass in Barcelona , keyboards in Louisville, and laptop in Eastern Market.
MAD_ILL is a founding member of NPFC , with whom he won "Best Audio" (at Flash Forward 2000) for the Submethod project, played some fun gigs , and released three CD's between 1999 and 2002. He released a 12" EP with vocalist Valerye B. on Rematter/Low Res in 2004. Recent audio/music clients include NFL, Bank of America, RTT USA, Comcast, Jeep, WeWorkForThem, Guthy-Renker, Chrysler, Microsoft, Converse, Valspar, Dodge, Sprint, Volkswagen and VH1.
