I'm a drummer. I moved to Seattle from Brooklyn in August. I recently landed the drum chair with long-time Seattle scenesters Mars Accelerator (see below). Also in the works is an afrobeat band that will cover 80's pop hits. Beyond that I'm still looking for other musical outlets. I play some funk, some jazz, some rock, some country, some hip-hop--kinda whatever. I spent about a year touring off and on with legendary boogaloo guitarist Melvin Sparks. We also cut an album in early 2004. The tracks on this page are from that. You can find some recordings I did right before I left the east coast at the link for The Now Trio below. I also toured as a sub with Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. I did some gigs with Brian Haas from that group on his solo tour that included Marco Benevento and Joe Russo (double drumset freakout at the Blue Note!). I worked as a sub for a New York rock group called the Bloodsugars and cute indy rockers Cheese on Bread and for alt-country darlings The Younger Sister Band. When I lived in Massachussets I did some gigs with Charles Neville and with songerwriter phenom Sonya Kitchell. Also I was working on a masters degree in jazz drumset at Rutgers before I got the gig with Melvin. Venues I've played include the Bastia Jazz Festival in Corsica, France; The Blue Note, NY; Tonic; The Green Mill, Chicago (owner asked us to stay for a third night); The Boom Boom Room, San Francisco; and many others. I've shared bills with Yusef Lateef, They Might Be Giants, P-Funk, Spearhead, Soulive, and other people you may have heard of.
