About Me

Dueling Pianos extraordinaire Chris Mavridis from Toronto Canada, has devoted his entire life to his talents and career, making him an international success. Heavily influenced by the musical talents of his father Nick Mavridis, Chris was exposed to a life centered on piano playing at a very early age. With his father being the sole accompanist for the international sounds of Malka and Joso, he was able to expose Chris to many wonderful experiences that began paving the road that lied ahead for Chris and his life passion for piano playing. Headlining at Carnegie Hall and Hosting The World of Music, a CBC Saturday night Prime Time TV show airing across Canada, are just a few of these experiences. While living through the successes of his father is something Chris will always remember proudly, Chris decided at the young age of seven to begin his own journey as a pianist. It was then Chris began studying piano classically, and continued to do so for the next ten years of his life. During his childhood and teen years, Chris performed at every opportunity given to him. In fact, as early as the age of fourteen, Chris had already begun playing in piano bars around Canada. With Chris expanding on his piano studies and performance experience he decided in High School to form his own progressive rock band, Tarnished Galahad. The band toured extensively across Canada for seven years. During this time Tarnished Galahad was able to record two albums and release two videos of their works. Once Chris reached the age of eighteen, he decided that Humber College in Toronto Canada would be the best next step in furthering his talents. Studying at this nationally acclaimed institution, in Jazz Performance, Chris was able to expand on his skill more that ever. However, after three years Chris wanted more out of his career, and decided it was in his best interest to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada to perform with The Kokomo Beach Band on the Strip at Harrahs Casino. It was with this band Chris was given the amazing opportunity to perform in Hong Kong at he 1999-2000 Millennium Celebration at the Hong Kong Hotel, giving him international recognition. With opportunity literally at Chris’s fingertips, he decided to make his next move to Disney Cruise Lines where he started playing in show bands for the prestigious company. Later he was promoted within the company to musical director and finally in 2002 Chris was given his first opportunity as a Dueling Piano player. Chris discovered a new passion in piano playing and has continued playing in piano bars across the country. A few of these places include Chopstix in Seattle, Ernie Biggs in Little Rock and Springfield Missouri, Lucielles in Milwaukee, Rumboulions at Silver Legacy Casino in Reno, The Bar at Time Square at the New York New York, Kahunaville Treasure Island, and the La Playa Lounge at Harrahs in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently Chris is sharing his gift as a Dueling Piano player with Royal Caribbean International, where he has performed on the Sovereign of the Seas and the Monarch of the Seas.
