About Me
A To UK is the debut track taken from the sophomore offering of Jr C & Casino, hosted by Jr.
A To UK is a salute, an acknowledgement for all those who have fought and are still fighting the Iraq and Afghanistan war. It is a song for all those who have and have had someone close to them in the services.
Jr C has - his older brother Corporal Ricardo Chin, a royal marines commando who had served in both the Iraq and Afghanistan war. Jr brilliantly compares the violence that our soldiers endure to the mindless, unnecessary aggression that plague our streets and is growing rife within our communities and how it affects our families. His brother can be heard telling his account of when he was injured during a gunfight whilst serving in Afghanistan. friends Leon Newman and David MacIntosh a.k.a. Tosh, familiar to some, can also be heard giving some insight into the life and times of our soldiers
A To UK, Produced by Yogi Wan of Jedi Knight Productions is released 30/03/09 and will be available from iTunes Amazon and other leading online stores. There is also an exclusive version-featuring Casino that will also available. All money generated from the downloads, Jr will be donating to Help 4 Heroes, a charity that helps all soldiers that have been injured whilst fighting for their county.
Alongside A To UK, Jr releases "I Will Always", his vow and commitment to everything he does. Produced by and featuring Yogi Wan, this must be a radio and club anthem.
KNOW THE HISTORY
Jr. C & Casino first met 8 years ago, coming from opposite sides of London and opposite sides of friends, it was purely coincidental. With a passion for hip hop and admiration and respect for their genres history, Jr. C & Casino formed in early 2000.
The following years saw them developing their skill and working with a number of producers & camps like, long time friend Soundbwoy Entertainment, Duane Flames, (a.k.a. Kid Freak), Ambush Productions and Jedi Knight Productions. London living is hard at the best of times, and the day to day grind for themselves as well as others made recording a slow process, hence the album title... "Patiently Waiting"! Long periods in-between recording sessions only fueled the fire, making them even more determined, to the point they started making their own tracks in order to complete the project.
Jr. C & Casino's influences range from Rare Groove, Revival, Jazz, Funk and Blues, artists like Santic (Jr. C's Father), Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Nina Simone, and Frank Sinatra to The Doors, to Coldplay, to Jay-Z, Naz & Pharrell. Some of these influences can be felt on Patiently Waiting.
During its making, Jr. C & Casino collaborated with singer/songwriter, Gavin on "Hard Sometimes"; and on "inspired" and "Why" with E.C. (Never Wanna Say - Soundbwoy Ent.). Since the completion of the mixtape, other collaborations have happened with a variety of artists. Some of these can be heard on websites such as MySpace, some may emerge on the next mixtape as well as other artists mixtapes, so get to know and keep an ear out.
The first track being promoted from the mixtape is "Inspired". Produced by Mobo nominee Soundbwoy Entertainment. The video - directed by David Allain, has been shot and looks big, the website (www.jrcandcasino.com) and the MySpace site (www.myspace.com/jrcandcasino) - designed by Third Eye Visual Solutions, are up and running and their following is getting larger by the day.
The future sees a lot more hard work, the journey is just beginning. Promoting the mixtape is priority; performances and P.A.'s are all on the agenda. The second video is in planning and the second mixtape is in the pipeline. Now Patiently Waiting is done, Jr. C & Casino are no longer waiting for studio time, it's being offered left, right and centre.
