Lee McCormack was born in Anniston, Alabama at Ft. McClellan Army base into a family of singers and soldiers. As Lee's father, Bud, kept his country safe; his mother, Bonnie, kept the soldiers entertained for years with her soulful voice. Lee always had a front row seat to all her shows. One day, she invited Lee onstage with her to sing at one of her concerts when he was only seven years old. The audience just loved him! They applauded like mad, and a star was born! At that moment he knew... that was what he wanted to do with his life. With musical influences like his mother, George Jones, & The Righteous Brothers, he began to focus on his future.
The road to stardom is a long one and Lee hasn't squandered any of his time. His weekends were always busy performing for anyone & everyone who would listen to him. Lee knows that the music industry is business too, that is why he filled his weekdays attending Ohio University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.
Life has been a nonstop ride for this dedicated professional who now resides in a small Ohio town just across the Ohio River from Ashland, Kentucky and Huntington, West Virginia. This area is so rich with talent, and has spawned some of the most gifted singers and songwriters in the world of country music. Lee has had the honor of performing with such well-known artists as Andy Griggs, Ricky Lynn Gregg, Josh Turner, Tim Rushlow (Little Texas), Kenny Chesney, Sarah Evans, Jimmy Wayne, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Cledus T. Judd, Gary Allan... and many others.
This single father of two has released two CD 's. What Turns You On, the first single from Lee's Open Road CD to be released to secondary market radio spent over 25 weeks on the National Independent Chart, and peaked at ..12. The following release, What A Heart Will Do for Love, charted as well. After conquering the secondary radio market nation-wide, the title track Open Road, and one of the crowd favorites: famed Nashville director Peter Lippman shot What Turns You On to video. The Open Road CD and videos have seen heavy sales. Lee's second CD entitled What Kind of Man has now been released with expectations exceeding the first. Lee and/or a band member wrote every song on it. You will feel moved by the music, and can hear in Lee's voice how personal this project is to him. With Lee's father having served in the military, and his brother currently serving, the song Long Way Home takes on a proud and majestic feel when talking about our loved ones serving overseas. The songs Lost Highway and Dad's Song about Lee's son and father respectively show the depth of his love for his family. The title song demonstrates a faith in God and Lee's fellow man in a way that few other artists have ever been able to accomplish.
