About Me

Crikey, I hate this question. I was born in NYC, lived my life there and just early November 2003 decided to take a leap and split outta Manhattan ... now I live in Taiwan. I teach here - which is what I have decided is more my calling than wasting away in a puny cubicle as a corporate stiff (which I was, previously).I turned 29 recently ... I'm 5'6", and you can see me in the pics on here.I'm a pretty friendly, talkative fella. I am open minded, I don't judge people when I meet them, so I tend to make friends pretty quickly. I have lots of close friends too, because I say (not so humbly) that I am honest, loyal and caring to those around me. I miss the ones I've left back in the states; and my family too (of course), but I am havin a most excellent experience in Asia.I like to read, write, listen to music. I miss snowboarding terribly; I hear they have a grass slope in Taiwan, but I get damaged enough trying to get air on a powdery mountain in Vermont, so I'm stayin away. Maybe surfing, when the weather gets warmer ..?I thrive on meeting people and immersing myself in new cultures, foods, languages. I have eaten some pretty scary (sounding) foods since I've been out here, and I'm workin on my Mandarin Chinese (and I speak Spanish). This is a very stiff sounding profile, I know. But given the chance to know me, you'll find I'm anything but straightlaced.- Jonny
