Joe Rockhead

About Me

First off, I'm NOT Joe Rockhead. He is a mythical Flintstones character (see pics). Nor am I the band. This band has disbanded long ago (although I am hopeful of a reunion show someday). Nor am I pretending to be a former member to try and get a mere fraction of the loving they got. This is just a lonely fan site of dedication to a rocking better time in a historic town, before jobs and responsibilties, before homeownership and mortgages, and before divorces, kids, and hurricane recovery. It has been given the green light by Bob Schneider (praise be to Bob), Bruce Salmon, Steve Bernal, Pat Brown, (and hopefully the other members of the band), and in return, y'all continue to spread the word about their current, awesome solo work and shows (check Bob out the Saxon Pub in Austin on most monday nights- and check out Bruce at the Enchanted Forest (and other venues as well) in Austin), and Steve Bernal in various Cafes and Casas around Austin (see their personal myspace pages for details, you wacky nuts!).Now, if you were in Austin in the early 90's and didn't see Joe Rockhead, well, I'm just sorry. Maybe you got to see the Ugly Americans or the Scabs though after the disbandment, and that's the next best thing. And if you've never heard any of those bands, well that's just a crime. Hence this site. You can't buy these albums at Tower or WalMart, and you're here now, so listen!!!IF one did remember the experience from a Joe Rockhead show by some miracle, they would recall a funkadehlic, dancelicious, raunchy party-music scene that enhanced the hooking-up experience in one of the coolest cities on earth or in history. And that might be an understatement.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: bobschneidermusic.com
Band Members: Core members (with more additions as they contact us) bob schnieder-singer, dude, general rabble-rouser/ steve bernal- ragin' on the bass/ bruce salmon- jammin' on the funk guitar/ pat brown- groovin' on the digger drums/ r.t. sinister- keyboard minister/
Influences: As I am just a FAN of the band, I have no idea. You'll have to ask to original members. But in terms of influences to AUSTIN, TX look at all those bands on the friends page. Most of them are from the 90's, and most are still kicking ass today. Do you not understand how Austin Rocks? Seriously.
Sounds Like: A cross between horn-deficit Bad Mutha Goose and a less-rappy Retarded Elf? Nah, they are Joe Rockhead-like. 'Nuff said.
