About Me

Down South Phamlee (D.S.P)Emerging in 1993, when Dr. Dres G-funk had overtaken the hip-world, and the Staten Island, NY- based Wu-Tang Clan proved to be the most revolutionary rap group of the mid-90s and of all time most would say. In the foot steps of there Staten Island influences D.S.P turned the standard concept of a hip-hop family up to a higher level. The members of D.S.P were assembled as a tight congregation of four MCs followed by the addition of a fifth MC in 2002. Upon releasing many mix tapes, along with many free style chyphers in their home state of South Carolina and becoming well known in there home town of Georgetown. The members of D.S.P put a pause on the music in SC due to College, Sports, Studio Difficulties, and their move to Atlanta GA. After a three years lay off the group reassembled in 1996 to make their first mark on the hip-hop scene in Atlanta. With all members in the same vicinity they reentered the studio and began there independent triumph in the underground scene of GA. The group made appearances in many local venues in town and out of town beginning their mark on the state of GA and SC. With their styles being very different from what the airways were playing in the streets on Atlanta D.S.P knew they had to show and prove in every venue that the stepped foot in. This was accomplished by keeping the true essence of Hip-Hop and not changing their beat to the lack luster lyrics and beats of the new south. Forming a strong unit of elite warriors. D.S.P members Nachaamyah born (Darrius Knowlin name changed once the truth came in the life of the members that we are the true Hebrew Israelites), Sinister B born (Bradford Stafford), Draven born (Larkeit Knowlin), and KevDaKey born (Kevin Heard). They flooded the streets with there 2003 hit mix CD 4 Pham Members Only. Surprisingly the independent hip-hop world of Atlanta showed them mad love and embraced the South Carolina group and their new member KevDaKey haling from Savannah GA. With the 3 power house producers Jameson Baker a.k.a Prime Evil, Brother Addison a.k.a Big Slim, and Darien Dee Ski. The groups style has evolved considerably over the years with gritty sample-based production and unique emceeing distinguished by heavy use of local slang and Hebrew Israelite terminology, themes of inner-city life and references to youth loved Transformers and life its self. S The time has come and THE DOWN SOUTH PHAMLEE (D.S.P) is here to make a powerful impact in the Hip-Hop world and leave their mark on it and it will definitely be talked about in history.
