About Me

---- Still Tempa ---- Love Is Beautiful ---- ..
---- Noize Tankz Cartell ---- Soundz Of War ----
---- Temparitus-- - All My Life - Cold Society Production ----Since the innovative Mike Skinner and Dizzee Rascal launched onto the UK music scene with their unique and original takes on age old genres, there has been troubled waters between traditionalist and contemporary music fans. Whilst chart followers and critics have embraced the fresh and experimental beats of Rascal and the loose rapping of Skinner, UK hiphop fans have kept their backs firmly against the wall, declining to venture into the middle of the dance floor and embrace new sounds. One new artist which looks set to bridge this gap is Still Tempa, familiar to those in the grime scene already and beginning to make serious waves towards everyone else. “I call my music ‘mix breed’ because I use the grime mentality of real raw lyrics but with the hiphop element of writing it in a deep and meaningful way” says the West London native in reference to his refreshing and compelling material to date. In the space of one mix CD, Still Tempa has secured the attention of national press and radio, having featured on Radio 1 and Kiss 100. He's also been putting in appearances in Ayia Napa and has the whole online urban community talking. Quickly improving with every new track, Still Tempa's future looks very bright. “Right now it’s all about the sickest underground album on the streets right now. ‘Pills, Punk n Parties’--. I don’t think anyone else in the UK has got the material up to the lyrical and song writing standards of this CD. Every track is a hit.” Surely being watched closely by major label A&R departments, Still Tempa is wise not to voice a determination to continue going it alone like so many young artists now seem to. “I’ve done the hard part by myself by releasing my music with no backing, so the easy job now is for a label to step in with a marketing budget and then we can all make money together.” And that seems very likely. Whereas many in the grime scene merely focus on bringing each other down with line after line of insults and UK hiphop habitants continue their love affair for big words that few understand, Still Tempa has an impressive natural balance of the two worlds with an immediacy and passionate tone to everything he pens. “I’m just here to write deep songs, funny songs and songs that might expand people’s imaginations, as I’m not scared to write about any topic”... Growing up in London, the closest England has to a ghetto, Still Tempa found himself in slightly more compromising situations than the average teenager. With a background deep rooted in criminal activity however, he breaks Rap music’s sometimes common association with gangs & crime choosing not to glamorize it. Age 10, Still Tempa ‘picked up’ NWA’s ‘Straight Outta Compton’ on cassette – it would be his first and most important taste of Rap music and Hip Hop culture. At 11, being the grubby kid who should have been put in goal, picked on for his lunch money, off key temper and always the last to run when in trouble, he soon earned the name ‘Tempa’ from his peers. Still Tempa began mimicking his favourite raps, giving him the confidence and presence to play down the taunts and embrace the name as his own. Influenced by many forms of music, he became more known for his phase in the Garage/Grime scene as it swept the UK and was the founder of Split Personalities crew, before forming a break-off Grime cartell, Noize Tankz along with a couple of childhood friends, 3 Fumz and Slugsy. Many of the UKs high-profile Hip Hop players will know Still Tempa from being victims of his Prank calls which became a feature of his pirate London radio show on Freeze FM back in 2004. With an uncanny Jay-Z-like ability to shun the pen & pad and construct songs completely in his head, Still Tempa tackles real life and real issues in his music. With emotional stories and chart topping sing-a-longs, his tracks are very visual, creating an audio-cinema like experience. This MC/Producer/Musician/Song Writer doubles up as a Storyteller/Comedian/Impressionist. Still Tempa isn’t your stereotypical rap artist; if he’s killed anyone, he’s not rapping about it. With sights set on more than Hip Hop music, Still Tempa has a natural ambition and talent to shift into producing some of the most influential grime music in the UK. ..
