About Me

Most bios consist of eloquent ways of saying how fantastic of an artist a person is but I thought I would be a little more transparent and give you a little insight into WHO I am as an artist as oppossed to just what I do.First off, music for me is an expression of my experiences, my imagination, my observances and some of my more sub-conscious desires. When I write most times I don't know where the song is going to lead. A writing session for me is like therapy. A therapy session that releases frustrations and expresses elations. I say all that to say that music is not a joke to me or just a way to make money or "become a star" its a gift that I have been given by God to help other people and I want to be true to it. So with that said here is a little about me:Born and raised in Detroit, MI Audra decided to come to California to bring her dreams to life. She first expressed her fascination with music when she dressed up like Tina Turner for Halloween at 3 years old she discovered her love for writing stories in the 1st grade, then writing her first song at the age of 9. At 14, she was introduced to a group of exceptionally talented young people called "Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit" in which she became a member. There she quickly discovered and cultivated her talent for songwriting and wrote songs for several of their plays. After high school graduation she spent a brief time in college but soon discovered that her love for music was more than just a hobby and that she wanted it to be her career. Soon after she moved to Los Angeles...at 19!Her time in L.A. has been life changing to say the least, she began work at Hidden Beach Recordings (the record label of one of her favorite artists...Jill Scott). From there she found herself working as an Associate Producer for several TV shows and featured on a couple Jazz projects: "The House of Urban Grooves" (aka T.H.U.G. Jazz) and "Def Jazz". Audra has found that though her time in Los Angeles has been fruitful in many ways there is still a lot of work to be done so with God and hardwork there is nothing she can't do.
