I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii while my dad was in the Army, stationed there as a helicopter mechanic. When I was only a year old, my dad got out of the military, and we moved to San Jose, California, where my brother was born. When I was 3, we moved to Longview, Texas, so that my dad could attend Letourneau College (now a University). When I was about 9 or 10, we moved back to San Jose, California, where I remained until I was 21. I attended Valley Christian High School and graduated in 1991, then went to West Valley College in Saratoga, CA and screwed around for about 3 years. When the program I was studying had to be cancelled due to state budget cuts, I decided to go join the Air Force. On March 1, 1995 I left for Basic Training, which turned out to be nothing like my recruiter told me. I attended tech schools in Monterey, CA, San Antonio, TX, and Wichita Falls, TX before finally reaching my first duty station at Dyess AFB, in Abilene, TX. I worked as an Avionic Systems technician, specializing in Radar/Electronic Warfare systems. While I was stationed there, I began to participate in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), doing Elizabethan Fencing (picture the 3 Musketeers or the Princess Bride, not Olympic Strip Fencing). It was alot of fun, I got to use two swords, sword and shield, sword and dagger, or even a sword and cape. At one event that I attended, I met the woman who would become my wife, Bobbi. My wife and I were married in January 12, 2001, shortly before I got out of the Air Force. In February 2001, we moved back to San Jose, CA, and I joined the California Air National Guard, where I worked in a Combat Communications unit as a telephone and computer systems specialist. Combat Comm units are the ones who deploy in to a location with Security Forces and CE (construction) units at a Bare Base location (setting up tents and initial comm equipment). While living in California, my first daughter Amanda was born (in 2001) and my second daughter Krista was born (in 2005). After 9/11/01 I was called to Active Duty for Operation Noble Eagle, and assigned to an ANG unit at Moffett FAF, in Mountain View, CA, checking the incoming mail for Anthrax. That assignment ended in Feb, 2002, when I went to tech school at Keesler AFB, in Biloxi, Mississippi. In September of 2002 I was again called to Active Duty, and deployed to Al Dhafra AB, in the United Arab Emirates, to support Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Southern Watch. I returned from that Assignment January 12, 2003, on my 2nd Anniversary. I remained on active duty status until April 2003. When my orders ended, I was hired by Avaya Communications for a contract at Onizuka Air Base, as a phone technician. In 2005, Onizuka was put on the BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) list. In late 2005 I was able to get my position relocated to Buckley AFB, in Aurora, CO, so we moved to Colorado, just 5 weeks after my daughter Krista was born. I also transferred to the Colorado Air National Guard, joining the 140th Comm Flt, which was also located at Buckley AFB. I worked on contract at Buckley for about 2 years before the contract finally ended in 2007. On Superbowl Sunday, Feb 4, 2007, my son Ian was born. In June 2007 I started working on another dedicated technician contract, this time assigned to support Qwest with a new call center project. At this time, I am still on that contract. My greatest accomplishments, to date, are marrying my beautiful wife Bobbi, with whom I just celebrated my 7th Anniversary, and our three beautiful children, Amanda (age 7 1/2), Krista (age 3 1/2) and Ian (age 2). If you want to know anything else, just ask.
