LOGLINE A random act of violence clears a confused young man's mind.
SYNOPSIS Reno, Nevada, 1:00AM. Three faceless men play a demented, thrill-seeking game involving a pay phone, a camera, a flashlight, a gun—and a terrified, unsuspecting stranger. Clifton Baine, a single, jobless copywriter, drives into his native Reno seeking a misplaced life's purpose and reunites with childhood friend Greg Ellis. It's just like old times: Greg is rejected by a girl and a drunken brawl breaks out, but not before Clifton meets Baila Fiorie, an aspiring singer-songwriter who instantly captures Clifton's curiosity and more. As the city wakes to news of another round of enigmatic violence, sleep-deprived Clifton spends a simple but perfect day with Baila, while Greg and his new gang of playing-card buddies, brooder Tommy and manic Anthony, hit rock bottom. As night returns to "The Biggest Little City in the World," relationships intensify and one dangerous game of chance meets another—Clifton's quest for purpose hinges on a lone, ringing pay phone. Will he answer it, or let it ring?
