Saul Lorenzo-Lorenzo… Kind, open, generous. Flamboyant flaming gay, in a tiny coastal town of 700. Made the best margaritas mas fuerte. Was a cherished center-piece, en eccentric fixture. A tio to many children, proud, laughing and shining in his presence. Medicated and self-medicating. Loved, loving and lonely. A crazy spirit too big for his body. He will be missed down the narrow, winding paths and on the verandas of Yelapa, on the ponga and at the baile, and most of all, at Saul’s Place.Pete Morse… The sweet, lovable giant. One of the reasons I thought that San Francisco wouldn’t be such as bad place (in the U.S.) to live. I thought: if people like Pete live in SF, I could live there too. Visionary, revolutionary, activist. Friend, harm reducer, music lover, strong hugger, life saver. Who reminds me to keep on dancing, to keep on fighting, that our revolutions are inextricably linked. To live each day as our last because it might just be. To Pete, Morse Code, Shooting Star. Love.
