About Me

I was born in Tijuana B.C. Mexico but raised in San Diego California until I was 13 yrs old. Within that time I was just exposed to Mexican music like Los Tres Ases, Los Panchos, Los Baby's , Los Angeles Negros, etc... It wasn't until I was 12 that someone gave me a 45 of Queen's Another one bites the dust with the b-side Don't try suicide, that I found an interest in Rock and Roll. Then when I was 13 I heard AC/DC's Back in black and a new chapter in my life began. From that point on I would end up buying all AC/DC albums and showing interest in guitar. That year I literally found a Les Paul that had a cracked neck behind somone's house, which I would use to play air guitar. It wasn't until I was 14 on Christmas that I got a working electric guitar. It was a Harmony from a store called Service Merchandise in northern California, which is where I wound up living until I was 26. Now, during that time I took about 6 months of blues guitar and playing along with Kiss, AC/DC albums until in 1984 I heard a band called T.N.T. This would change my outlook on guitar to a more technical aspect of it. I wound up doing cover tunes and trying to start up several original bands with no success. Then in 1992 I found a new love in Flamenco guitar, which led me to go to college and taking two semesters of Flamenco amongst general ed. at De Anza college in Cupertino, CA. My instructor Anita Sheer passed away due to cancer and I dropped out of college all together. It wasn't until 1994 that I had an opportunity to move to Mexico City that I started getting into Rock en Espanol with bands like La Ley, Caifanes, La Lupita, Lucybel, Coda, Radio Kaos, etc.... I feel this music unlike rock in the English language let's a band play out of the rock format and expirement with different Rythms and still be considered a rock band. I also played with a couple of bands including my cousins band "NYX" while in Mexico. Returining to the states unfortunately I got in to some legal problems which stopped me from playing guitar all together for about a year. In addition my son was born, which added another two years to my hiatus. I finally started up again with the boys from Castillo in San Diego and played many venues in San Diego as well as in Meixco including the San Diego County Fair & Rosarito Fair. After parting ways with Castillo I found myself needing to express all these different musical influences, which is where I find myself today. Starting recordings on what will be an instrumental solo album with 1 or 2 vocal tracks and at the same time finding musicians for live performances. The tunes you are listening to here are rough cuts that will be polished up for the solo album. So as Queen sang "The Show Must Go On"
