FOUR BANDS WHO MOLDED CROTCHHAMMER
KoRn
Limp Bizkit
Papa Roach
Rammstein
I was in 4th grade when I started to realize that FUCKING Boy Bands are gay. I’ve got to be honest; I listened to those gay craps before. I got my first taste of Rock N’ Roll when my cousin was playing a KoRn song in his stereo (by the way the name of the song is Blind). KoRn became my favorite band because of their cool mixture of the wicked voice of Jonathan Davis with the blurring guitar distortions of Brian ‘Head’ and J.R. ‘Munky’ to the loud slapping bass of Feildy and the drum pounding of David Silveria. And after that, I stole my cousin’s KoRn CD and that’s where it all begun.
1998 was the emergence of a Rock genre called Alternative/Rap Metal. Limp Bizkit came out of nowhere with a new twist in their songs mixing with heart pounding Heavy Metal, hardcore hip-hop beats, and KICKASS lyrics by Fred Durst. They’ve became the most prominent band during that era. Because I was so in to this genre, I can’t wait to here another band that sounds somewhat the same as Limp Bizkit. Papa Roach came along with the same trend of music, but the only difference between them in Limp Bizkit is that Papa Roach tends to have more serious songs. Papa Roach’s album Infest is probably their best album ever. Even though they sound different now, they are still one of my favorite bands.
Alternative/Rap Metal have changed dramatically to a different sound and started to deteriorate. The main cause is Linkin Park. Linkin Park ruined the established genre even though they’ve reached the summit of all Rock and Metal genres. It was hard for me to accept that Linkin Park became the most notable band not only in Alternative/Rap Metal but in the whole world. That was probably the turning point of my genre transition.
I was watching MTV and I saw this band from Germany called Rammstein; they’re the one who introduced Heavy Metal. This post Alternative/Rap Metal was a little rough from the begging because I don’t know much about Heavy Metal. But when I first bought a Rammstein CD, they’ve became the soothing band for me as I try to enter the world of Heavy Metal.
My top influential/favorite bands right now are:
Lamb of God, Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura, Metallica Bloodhound Gang, Rammstein, KoRn, Hatebreed, Megadeth, Slipknot, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, In Flames, Mudvayne, Chimaira, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, Drowning Pool, Carnal Forge, Children of Bodom, Dark Tranquility, Anthrax, Haste the Day, Fear Factory, Hypocrisy, Krisiun, Coal Chamber, Cradle of Filth, My Darkest Hate, Chevelle, Kataklysm, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, 100 Demons, Mushroomhead, Caliban, Flaw, Pissing Razor, Godsmack, Dry Kill Logic, Full Blown Chaos, Superjoint Ritual, Eighteen Visions, Meshuggah, Amorphis, All That Remains, Children of Bodom, God Forbid, God Dethroned, Himsa, Machine Head, At The Gates, Deftones, Ill Nino, Moonspell, DevilDriver, And_Oceans, Katatonia, Evans Blue, Limp Bizkit, Brick Bath, Mastodon, A Perfect Circle, It Dies Today, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Gales, ACDC, Kittie, Lacuan Coil, Within Temptation, Breaking Benjamin, AFI, Demon Hunter, Gojira, Disturbed.
So yeah, most of the songs i listen to are filled with aggresion and sometimes blasphemous(especially to the catholic church). And of course I’m not always listening to heavy metal, i listen to some other softer bands like the song in my myspace(I LIKE THIS SONG AND THIS BAND).
