About Me

I am 35 year old male living in Belgium, I have a master in Comparitive Culturural science(cultural anthropology),thesis on vampires, a master in archaeology,a thesis on bog bodies, a bachelor in art sciences and archaeology, and I also have a teachers degree ,and I am,as a hobby doing a phd on freaks (exhibited people) in Belgium and the rest of europe and the USA. On the job level, mostly I teach, also worked as a prison guard, labourer at a car factory, postal service, a library assistent in my home-town, etc. I am also a collector of books on folklore and more specifically doing research into the realm between " truth and fiction", more particularly where do folktales and legends stop and reality begins. We are also compiling "odd places and natural phenomena and their link with folktales and the paranormal" which we intend to publish in a book. We also have almost finished an 182p book on mummified and dried human and animal remains and their relation with the paranormal in the works. Currently I am working as a teacher and probably will stay working as one, though temping sucks. Recently we started following evening school "Drawing art" which I follow in the evening in Ghent were I live. I also am planning to become a guide in an arts museum in Ghent but I need to get a part-time job as a teacher first or stop teaching and become a professional dealer on ebay. My interests are very fortean, I am also a collector, always looking for interestion old photographs and postcards of freaks; postmortem pics and funeral pics(my pension plan, however we started working on a book covering photography and death) , weird settings , weird people. I also collect stuffed animals, skulls( and natural dried animals. we also sell photographs of nuns from the late 1850ies till around 1960 max. This resulted in a small collection for myself. For the 19th century mostly photos by celebrated french and Belgian photographs, like Ghemar, Pierre Petit, Walery, etc.... The 20th century collection is different, the focuss lies on nuns in odd situations or active nuns. we also sell photographs as well as religious memorabilia, this resulted in a small collection off authentic photographs of Bernadette soubirous alive as well as dead. We are also working on the creation of a commercial photography archive, featuring a large collection of photos of celebrated 19th century and early 20th century people, as well as normal photographs which just look great, also see higher for more info. We also have a library with more than 1500 books to back up my research. Additionally I also have a comic book collection of over 4000 comics, part of this material was collected with my interests in mind. Goes from the 1940ies till now, though we barely buy new comics lately. On top of this we have a normal collection of comics, belgian/ dutch/ french. Last time I counted this it was in 1988, we had about a 1000 then. On the art-level I like pop-art, art nouveau, naturalism, chris ware, Munch, Glenn Fabry, Steven Weissman, Ivan Brunetti, Rosinsky, Wiertz, Ensor, Charles Vess, Arthur Rackham, James Mundi, Jozef Speybrouck, Jozef Jannsen, Alan Davis, Sam Kieth, Berni Wrightson, Simon Bisley,Leni Riefenstahl, Joel Peter Witkin, and much more. My favourite pet is wolpy the wolperdinger,I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.1
