Fine tunes aroused when blues-musicians Lennart Olofsson from Sweden and Dan Bindel from Denmark met in the spring of 1980. Their influences came together into an exciting infusion with Dans slide-based delta-blues and with Lennarts roots in the somewhat heavier Chicago-blues and white British blues of the 60s. As a result of their coming together, a cult-marked blues-band called Doctor Blues was born. In September 1981 the band performed their first gig in front of a full auditorium and the success was a fact.
To start off with Doctor Blues was exclusively a cover-band, but as Lennart started to produce his own songs, they gradually began to work with their own material.
A milestone of vital importance for the bands history came with the blues-singer Karin Rudefelts appearance in 1996. With Karins entrance the vocal part of their music got a new dimension. Consequently, from then on, the band calls themselves Karin Rudefelt & Doctor Blues. Their first own-produced full-length album No Pain No Gain was released in 2003. The album received warm receptions and fine reviews in the American blues-magazine Blues Revue amongst others. In the USA, Italy and the Balkans tracks from their record have been played on the radio in several blues-programs. Bookers from Germany and the Netherlands have shown great interest in the band and due to the release of their second album Breakin.. the chain in 2006 the band is expecting their definite lift.
In February 2007 we played FAsching in Stockholm. That was great and we are probably coming back this year. Good place, nice staff and welcoming audience!
