I have been playing the guitar for about 15 years. Started out in the early 90..s playing deathmetal in a local act called Enslavment. We had a one song released on a compilation album released by Nuclear Blast Records 1993 called "Gindcore". After a couple of line up changes the band changed name to Coffinman. We contributed with one song as the only unsigned band on the Slayer tributes "Slaytanic Slaughter" released by the swedish label Black Sun 1995. Later we got offered a record deal but the band were in a quite unstable situation so we did not accept the deal, later Coffinman was buried to the ground. A couple of months after the burial of Coffinman in 1996 I was about to start something new. One night when me and a fellow-worker named Joachim Nordlund were out drinking beer (as usual) we started to talk about to start a band (as usual when being drunk). I was really into the stoner-rock scene at the moment listening to Corrosion of conformity, Cathedral, etc. I had this idea of starting a trio and just write groovy low tuned stuff. Joachim liked the idea and the band "Earflog" was born, the line up was Joachim: bass and vocals, me: guitar, drums: former drummer of Coffinman Gabriel Frölin. We made three demos, first one released -97 and the last one -98 or -99. Nothing really happend and Gabriel joined another band called "Burboun Tan" which he found more inspiring and the interest in Earglog faded. I can..t recall when we disbanded. After a while without being in a band i was offered the spot as giutarist in a band now known as "Pound" playing Rock/pop, I joined 1999. We made a lot of demos and gigs but nothing really happend there either. During 2002 Joachim and a friend called Johan Lindstedt started to talk about starting a band. We talked about it one night at my place when drinking beers (!) Some time went by but we never started that band. Johan and Joachim started to write some songs together and had vocals recorded by Patrik Johansson a former band mate of Johan. Joachim kept me updated and sent mp3..s of the songs to me that where recorded and I realised that this was something really good and some hope was born that this could be the band we talked about earlier. Johan, Joachim and Patrik continued to write songs and pretty fast a management deal was signed and a band was needed to be put together. I joined the guys along with organ player Joakim Roberg, the band would be named Astral Doors.%D?efore the release of the first album, bassplayer Mika Itäranta joined the band. My interest and time for Pound faded and I jumped of that train to be able to focus 100% on Astral Doors.
