SHADOWKEEP SIGN TO MELISSA RECORDS The band are pleased to announce the signing to Melissa Records check out the press release www.melissarecords.comI started playing guitar quite late I was 20yrs old and my parents bought me my first guitar something I always wanted to do for a long time before that but just hadn't got around to it so it began day after day driving my parents mad oh how they miss me living at home! What was a turning point for me was the first time I heard Phantom Blue I couldn't believe it I wanted to play like that , it was awesome to hear female musicians playing metal to that standard.I began listening to bands such as Wasp I was a huge fan of Blackie Lawless loved his voice and the songs . Then I discovered bands such as Leatherwolf , Vicious Rumors, Pantera, Fates Warning, Crimson Glory all these bands had a big influence on my playing style the songwriting in these bands was fantastic but probably Vicious Rumors and Crimson Glory more than most. In 1999 i formed Power Metal Band Shadowkeep with Chris Allen we are just about to release our third album 'The Hourglass Effect' listen to some samples at www.shadowkeepmetal.net also www.myspace.com/shadowkeepuk About the gear I use ,I have a Jackson Randy Rhoads I've had that for at least 18yrs i love it ! I also have a Jackson V copy it's well beaten up but sounds great as a back up guitar it is actually called a 'Jackoff'! I also have a real nice Ibanez Acoustic Ash Body it looks stunning and plays real nice. As for amps I have used Mesa Boogie for 16yrs now I have an old DC5 Head the reason I chose this amp was because the overdrive was Savage! It is only a 50 watt head but is just the best for the sound I need. As for speaker cabs I have two custom built 4x12's fully flight cased Celestion equipped there is nothing quite like them anywhere real unique, my friend made them for me, thanks to my friend Scott! They truly are 'The Cabs Of Metal!' I use an Ibanez Chorus pedal and I have a Senheiser wireless system.
