I get my news from the Daily Show when I can. I work a lot, but I do what I love. If I ever did anything else for a living it would probably have to do with airplanes, or crossword puzzles. I just can get enough of either. I'm scared to death of flying, and do so every weekend for work, but am intregued by how they work. The crossword puzzles keep my mind off crashing.
Tina Fey...she's the coolest. Her and Jimmy Falon on SNL made me laugh my ass off. Funny people who are kind and smart and like to make out in the movies! Anyone with that "Geek Chic" charm who doesnt mind the words retard, midget and jesus fucking christ and bonus if you can use all three in the same sentence...like...Jesus fucking christ you retarded midget!
My musical taste is ecclectic to say the least. I think the Postal Service's "Give Up" is probably one of the best CD's I have ever listened to. I love the old school shit like Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell, Harry Chapin, John Denver etc. I love just about anything 80's and dont hold it against me, but Michael Jackson and Journey still rock my world.Newer stuff is an odd mix of KEXP meets KMTT. Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne, Garden State Soundtrack, Death Cab, Nellie McKay, My Morning Jacket, James Blunt, Goldfrapp, Beth Orton, Ben Folds, OK Go, +/-, The Notwist. At any time on my I-pod I'll be listening to a playlist with Marilyn Manson, The Muppets, Phill Collins, Judy Collins and Guns & Roses...and that doesnt even begin to describe it...I guess my taste in music is just as screwy as I am.
I'm a total movie-aholic. I'm a sucker for anything foriegn or anything that doesnt have a Hollywood "happily ever after" ending. I think Cinema Paradiso was one of the best movies ever made. Anything with Tilda Swinton or Laura Linney I'd see over and over. You Can Count On Me and Garden State are two of the finest movies to ever come out of Hollywood in recent years. Lost in Translation, Elizabeth (or anything with Cate Blanchet...except The Aviator, I cannot stand Leo DiCaprio. I just dont get it.), Orlando, Station Agent, Big Fish, Lord of the Rings, Run Lola Run, Malena, My Life as a Dog, Wings of Desire, Howard's End, Kill Bill, The Hours, Bad Education, Y Tu Mama Tambien. The Blue White Red Trillogy, Amelie, Cinema Paradiso and The Princes Bride are probably my all time favorite movies. I liked both versions of Donnie Darko, but I would still like someone to explain to me what EXACTLY happend.
Dead Like Me, West Wing, Buffy...what else is there?
Jonathan Livingston Seagul because of it's idealism. The Art Of War because of it's truism, Filth because just when you think it couldnt get ANY worse...it does. The Metamorphasis because my mom gave it to me in Prauge and it's about alienation it meant a lot. The Alchemist because it teaches you that sometimes what you long for and search for the most is the closest thing to you. It is a beautiful story of following your dreams. The life of Pi. Bill Clinton's autobiography because I think he is an amazing person...blow job and all. Stiff because Mary Roach knows how to tell a story! I couldnt put it down and was totally intrigued by it.
Everyone probably says this but, Gandhi and Mother Teresa because they always advocated peace, understanding, kindness and NON-VIOLENCE. In this day and age we need that kind of peaceful, un-hippy-like, activisim and diplomecy. What Bill Gates does with his charity and philanthropy work through his foundation. France for sticking up for what the believed in and not giving into "The Idiot". Bill Clinton for charm and eloquence the world hasn't seen since Kennedy. Angela Merkel for becoming the first ever Geman Chancellor and Hillary Clinton for becoming our first ever woman president...she will be...It's time.
