"Music is Poetry in Motion..." Positive in all light seeking peace and love, Vintage Soul's music will allow all listeners to obtain that. "A spiritual experience..." is said about the intense lyrics of this artist. As a native to the westside, Los Angeles, California is home to Vintage Soul. Soul discovered her life of music when the millenium approached. As a young teen she founded a group called "Ny'Eve" in which she was a part of. The group consisted of 3 members, Knadix (Nadi), J'ru (Dru), and Vintage Soul who was formerly known as Nashemo (Nay-Sha-Moe). The group name "Ny'Eve" meant to the 3 young girls that "because we are young, people expect our songs to be immature and silly, but we want to show through our deep lyrics that we are not nieve and we actually have something to say." The 3 girls wrote their own songs and coordinated their own style. Their songs were very vivid, colorful, and different, "it was like TLC with more of a hip hop twist." Sadly, the group didn't last. The 2 other girls wanted to persue other careers and Vintage went solo. After a while, Soul connected with a producer from Watts, California named BiggFace and began making heavy hitting music with him. He introduced her to a vivacious rapper/singer/songwriter named Green Candy and they began making hits together. Taking the city by storm, the girls performed at many Los Angeles venues including, The House of Blues, Hollywood Park Casino, Club Lingerie, and the Viper Room. It wasn't until growth came for Soul and she decided it was time for her to spread her wings. She went and joined a male rapper and male vocalist and they formed a musical family called "The Squad." As time ticked on, they realized that this formation wasn't working and Vintage decided to go solo for the final time. She went on her own and took on the task of being the Executive Producer of her own album. She produced every single song on her 2003 album, "Ny'E.V.E." Nowdays, Vintage recites at local poetry spots and has completed her sophomore album "City In The Sky" which dropped Dec. 12th 2006. She also founded her own Entertainment (Vintage City Entertainment) company that focuses on film, theatre, music, literature & poetry.
