Groove Daddies

ROCK - R&B - BLUES - FUNK

About Me

The Groove Daddies were formed in 1990, but before then they all played in many other local bands, some of which you might even remember, sometimes even with each other, and often with other musicians that you might even know. In the last 16 years they've played just about all the major (and some not so major) fairs, festivals, celebrations, expositions, commemorations, memorializations, frolics, fetes, fiestas, balls, bacchanals, jubilees, jamborees, hullabaloos, hooplas, hootenannies, galas, sprees, shindigs, wingdings, bashes, blasts, and blowouts hosted here in the tri-county area. They've also played in bars. A lot of bars. Some of them are still open for business.Generally, all this accounting is only interesting to chroniclers of rock lore, so if you really want to know one of the guys' history, just come up to him at a show and see how much he remembers.

Influences: As if you didn't already know by now, the Groove Daddies are just a small part of a larger and very dedicated group of people from all over the world who share a deep love and appreciation for the fairer sex. We also love music, food, and of course, the occasional drinkie-poo. The cumulative result of all this love is a live musical experience that's mostly about sex, food, libations, and urinations. In addition to our own ostentatious original offerings, we're serving up a steamy smorgasbord of Allman Brothers, Blues Brothers, Doobie Brothers, Isley Brothers, Neville Brothers, Vaughan Brothers, Popa Chubby, Buddy Guy, Sir Douglas, Van Morrison, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Feat, Little Milton, Little Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Sam & Dave, Al Green, James Brown, James Gang, Earth Wind & Fire, Elvis, Animals, Beatles, Rascals, Rolling Stones, Tubes, Temptations, Commodores, Average White Band, The Band, Motown, Tiny Town, Storyville, Sea Level, Arc Angels, Otis Redding, Rufus Thomas, Robben Ford, Eric Clapton, Delbert McClinton, Albert Collins, Joe Cocker, Joe Walsh, John Hiatt, Jonny Lang, Jimmy Rogers, Roger Miller, Mitch Miller, Mitch Ryder, Robert Palmer, Wilson Pickett, Wet Willie and a whole lotta R&B, Rock, Funk and Blues.
