i like many random things: muppets, shoes, photography, live music, theatre, things that are sparkly, theme parties, art (particularly warhol or erte), books, design (graphic, costume, and scenic), and lots of other things, none of which are necessary in that order.
is this a myspace question, or a general "life" question? because that changes my answer pretty dramatically...if we're talking real life, then here are a few people i'd like to hang out with... eddie izzard, rob paravonian, drew barrymore, neil gaiman, david tennant, zach galifianakis, ed robertson, dane cook, queen latifa, catherine tate, michael buble, whoopie goldberg, and (especially) jeremy piven. and it's not because these people are famous (or infamous, as the case may be...). i want to meet them for the same reason my friend mindy wants to meet johnny depp: she knows, deep down in her soul, that if she and johnny should meet, they would be best friends forever. and i firmly believe that, were i to meet and hang out with the afformentioned people, we would become great friends and i would immediately be added to their christmas card lists.View All Friends | View Blog | Add Comment

music is essential to life. the soundtrack to MY life includes... the Cure, 311, Rusted Root, the Beatles, BNL, Guster, the Gimme Gimmes, Sunscream, Madonna, Queen, Toad the Wet Sprocket, David Bowie, the Beach Boys, Michael Buble, Billie Holliday, Boy Sets Fire, Bosstones, BTE, Velocity Girl, Cowboy Mouth, Moby and a little bit of mostly everything. my taste in music is wide and varried, and i'm a sucker for complex harmonies and music that can instantly make me smile and bounce around a room. also, be sure to click on the "afterglow radio" banner a little further down the page. these guys have been known to kick a little ass occasionally...
Singin' in the Rain, Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Dogma, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dress to Kill (Eddie Izzard), anything by Tim Burton or the Cohen brothers, 80's classics, Music & Lyrics... the list goes on...
i miss the shows that went away: cupid, ed, dead like me, pretender... i don't watch much tv, but i DO love to watch "so you think you can dance" when it's on. and "dancing with the stars." and "dance war" - i now have a full year's worth of dance shows!! it's rob's fault that i am now addicted "eureka" - and the new doctor who series; and i think david tennent is officially my favorite doctor ever - even though i still heart tom baker. i adore reruns of "bob ross - the joy of painting" when i can find them... that man is zen therapy in a tv show. oh, and "pushing daisies" - can't wait till that's back! i recently found my favorite "monsterpiece theatre". it's just below my blog buttons... go check it out because it is BRILLIANT. if you don't quite get it, ask your local theatre geek about samuel beckett...
The Princess Bride, anything by Neil Gaiman or Douglas Adams, most of Edgar Allen Poe's stuff, the Chronicles of Narnia, Dr. Seuss, most everything by Christopher Moore, and yes, i'm a Shakespeare dork, too. books you should go out and read immediately: the Princess Bride by William Goldman (if you love the movie like i do, trust me, the book's even better!) Love is a Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield, The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor, Lamb by Christopher Moore, Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, the new Peter Pan prequels, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, Possible Side Effects by Augusten Burroughs, and give me a week - i'll probably find more...
anyone who sets out to make a difference, but doesn't take themselves TOO seriously. it's only life, after all... oh, and bob ross. clearly.
