About Me

Layout by CoolChaser Background from flickr userThe love affair with all music began when Damian was a young boy. He was exposed to many different styles of music through his family, who were all very musical people. When his time came to start making his mark as a musician, he knew that he would naturally gravitate to country music for its soulfulness. As most careers in music seem too, Damian got his start when he won the 1996 Search For The Stars contest through Nornet Broadcasting, which bolstered his confidence in his ability to sing. With that encouragemet, he auditioned for his first country rock band based out of Edmonton, Alberta and got his first gig as a professional singer/ acoustic guitar player. The band was called the Alamo and they traveled through Canada playing the club circuit. It was an invaluable educative experience, but he needed to take the next step to becoming a recording artist. That dream would be realized in 2001 with the independent release of Fortunate One to Canadian country radio. With a failed trip to Nashville to do a demo, and a single out to radio, Damian finally found success with his second single with CCMA nominated producer Tom McKillip. Shortly after, the single was released to radio and Damian Marshall charted his first top 30 hit on the BDS Charts! Dont Say Anything At All was co-written by Curb Records Artist Lisa Brokop and featured her harmony vocals on the track. The single also garnered a nomination from the Star Radio Awards in 2004 featured at for Best New Artist. With that brought opportunities to perform at some higher profile venues such as the Calgary Stampede, the Big Valley Jamboree, and the Merritt Mountain Music Festival. Constantly searching to re-invent himself and to incorporate his life into his music is what keeps things interesting. That is what Damians first debut record, Built To Last recorded in Nashville and co-produced by Noah Gordon and J.R Vautour, was to be thought-provoking, a little more melodic, and fun. From the heart like he envisioned it should be. That proved to be the successful record that would propel Damian to 2 top 15 singles in Canada, 3 top 20 singles, a CCMA nomination for the 2006 Chevy Truck Rising Star Award, and 9 BCCMA nominations between 2006 and 2007, and a brand new 3 album deal re-signing with Busy Music. The follow up album will be out later this year, and features songs co-written by Damian with hitmakers Wade Kirby, Monty Criswell, Lee Miller, Phil O'Donnell, Noah Gordon and so on! Wade Kirby also produces the album with famed session musicians Eddie Bayers, Rob Hajacos, and Troy Lancaster!BUY DAMIAN MARSHALL STUFF HERE!! Just click on this link below!!
