About Me

Kristi Stice is a dynamic performer with a wide variety of musical influences as diverse as Leonard Cohen, Jolie Holland, and Billie Holiday.
Kristi is from Denver, Colorado and spent time at Colorado State University in the mid 1990’s. Her musical awakening was happening in the late blistery evenings and weekends, singing with the folk/rock band Gypsy Whistle and then later the band Eve’s Drop. She recorded two full-length albums with Eve’s Drop on the Hapi-Scratch Record Label, but was still not being true to her own music and song. That is when she decided that she would no longer be a funnel for the creativity of others and she began recording her own original compositions.
Kristi moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2003 and decided to take her study of music seriously; consequently enrolling at the University of North Florida’s Jazz Studies Program. She graduated in 2007 and has been singing and playing in Jacksonville and around Florida for the last four years.
Not only is Kristi an accomplished solo performer, she has also worked with Rebecca Zapen at the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival, the White Springs Folk Festival, and at the Independent Music World Series in Nashville. Kristi was chosen to sing at Jacoby Hall with the Jacksonville Symphony to harmonize with the violinist Mark Wood, a member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She recently won a songwriter's contest in St. Augustine at a local music festival and was awarded time on Flagler College Radio.
Most recently she has teamed up with Betsy Federman, a cellist from the Jacksonville Symphony. Together the music they are creating is full of emotive surprises and the depth of the strings in combination with the guitar creates a new sound that she has been craving. Kristi Stice has recently completed her first album of original music titled 'room of colors.' It will be made available to the public soon.
Manifest plainness. Embrace simplicity. Reduce selfishness. Have few desires.
