About Me

..
Okay, I guess I've been back long enough to change this. If you want to know more about the whole "MySpace deleting me" misadventure...read my blog :)
Soooo I am the youngest of five and I have nine nieces and nephews who I absolutely adore.
I LOVE to travel. One of the best times of my life was when I lived in Galway, Ireland for seven months. I also lived in Spain for about a month, and have traveled throughout Europe and Japan. Obviously I prefer international travel, but I do quite a bit of domestic travel, as well. Somehow I seem to be more willing to visit my out-of-town friends than they are to visit me...
I played DI volleyball in college, and I still dabble in it recreationally. Otherwise I'm pretty lazy when it comes to working out, but I'm getting better about it!
My family and friends are the most important things in my life, and I will do just about anything for them.
My career is somewhat stagnant at the moment, but I'm hoping to eventually move to Austin and work for a fabulous publishing company there.
And that's about it. Even though my life is not perfect right now (or how I imagined it would be at this point), I'm perfectly happy!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I add people who I either already know, have something in common with or am interested by. I don't usually add strangers. However, I have met some really cool and seemingly normal (at least so far) randoms on here, which is why I haven't gone private...yet.

My Blog

Caffeine Nation

I read an article on CNN Health today about how Americans are drinking more coffee than ever before, and I was amazed by some of the examples given. Lindy Smith, a mom of three in...

The Adventures of the Apathetic Receptionist: A Retrospective

Though the Apathetic Receptionist is no longer with us (fired, not dead), there are still stories to be told. This one, I think, takes the cake. The AR began working here on a Thursday. And for the fi...

The Adventures of the Apathetic Receptionist: The 2-hour work day

Today, the apathetic receptionist showed up 30 minutes late (an all too common occurence), stayed for 2 hours and 15 minutes, and then just got up and walked out. Two minutes later, I received an ema...

The Adventures of the Apathetic Receptionist: The Long Lunch Break

I did not expect to have another adventure to write about so soon after the first, but the Apathetic Receptionist lived up to her name once again today. In addition to arriving 30 minutes late t...

The Adventures of the Apathetic Receptionist: A Trip to the Dentist

Today, the Apathetic Receptionist attended what was presumably a 3 1/2 hour long dentist appointment. She furthermore failed to show up to work this morning (and did not call in), despite telling the ...

The Land of Confusion

I am utterly astounded (and frustrated!) by the recent events in Myanmar - the Cyclone Nargis Disaster and that country's pitiful response to help its own people. Time and time again,&n...

Are you kidding me?

This was an actual headline on cnn.com today: Martha Stewart's dog dies Granted, it was under the entertainment banner, and pretty much anything passes for news in that category, but really? Her dog ...
