Conrad Sargeant aka Lionface was born on February 17th 1968 in Trench Town, Kingston, Jamaica. He grew up with strong Rastafarian values, as both his mother and father were members of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Since he was a youth, the teachings of Rastafari instilled in him with a seriousness and truthfulness towards his people. This, combined with chanting and the beating of drums inspired Lionfaces music from the beginning. In his early days, he loved to sing tunes by Jacob Miller, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, and the I-Trees together with his parents.Now, Lionface is one of the most hype and energetic dancehall artists around. He is well know in Jamaica for his powerful stage shows, sometimes even earning him higher praise than established acts in newspaper reviews. In Jamaica he has performed at Sting, Reggae Bash, Rebel Salute, and many more. More recently he toured Europe alongside Pinchers.Lionface has recorded with artists such as Junior Kelly, Norrisman, and Pinchers, and with many producers and several record labels including Cell Block, 321 Strong, Al.Ta.Fa.An Records, and Nowtime Sound.
