This Swahili Songbird was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She started singing early on while accompanying herself on her first keyboard. Music became her lifesang in school, church, and formed a gospel group called Echoes of Grace, performing for four years every Sunday.
Moving to the United States at age seventeen to pursue a college education, an opportunity to join a Christian band Against the Flow presented itself. The members, all international students, traveled throughout the country singing at International Student Conferences. It was during this time while accompanying herself on piano and guitar Kesha honed her skills.
Additional music and vocal education produced showcase opportunities and the completion and performances of fourteen songs. The love of music and passion for performing is key for Keshas entrance into the Jazz arena.
"I compose music, play piano, and guitar and write inspirational music. I am also an African dancer since age 10. I love to Salsa and learn latin ballroom dancing for competition. I love to meet new people and travel to new places. I am a spirited person, cheerful, joyful and I like to laugh. Music is my life,
without it I wouldn't have the motivation to live. I'm thankful to God, who is the number 1 reason I live. I believe He put me here on earth and gave me these talents to inspire people
and change lives. Here I come."
