About Me

Hello, well this is me I guess!!! Urm...not sure what to write... Well I'm 19 and I'm studying a degree in Psychology and Dance at Roehampton University at the moment, which is brilliant!!! I love living in London and love uni, but do of course miss Cornwall and my lovely Cornish friends too!!! Just started to look at what I'm gonna do after graduating and its all very exciting!!!! I live in a house in roehampton at the moment, but next year I'm gonna be a hall rep at southlands, and am already a student rep and hopefully will be a senior rep next year, so life's busy, with all that and rehearsals (i live in the dance studio - literally lol) but its good. Thats it for now xxx

My Interests

Well I love dancing ...... if you know me you must know that by now - I can dance literally anywhere, anytime !!!! Love all styles of dance and love teaching it too!!! My life is basicaly one rehearsal after the other at the moment, between rehearsing 5 dances for Jazz hands, one disertation piece, one MA piece and my own choreopgrahys for chapel etc! What else interests me- while I'm quite a workaholic and actually really enjoy getting things done so if Im being productive I pretty much enjoy whatever I'm doing!!! lol Love reading as well when I get the chance and am reading 3 great books at the mo!!!!

Music:

Anything and everything - I will and do listen (and dance) to all kinds of music - there isnt much I dont like even cheese!!!! As long as I can dance to it I'll probably love it!!! Sometimes i like chilled out, relaxed stuff to de-stress me and sometimes I need something really powerful, fast and funky that I can turn up loud and have a good dance to if I'm a bit grumpy!!!

Movies:

Urm soooooo many - not really sure which are my favourites - 'Pirates of Caribbean' are good (eye candy lol) and the Bridget Jones movies are a laugh- quite like 'Pride and prejudice' as well, and my friend Demz and I recently brought 'Memoirs of a Geisha', 'Take the Lead'which are all really good movies. Having a day out shopping and then going to the cinema has become a bit of a thing of mine recently so have seen a load of gr8 films recently. That includes 'The Holiday' (funny), 'Dreamgirls' (great music), 'Miss Potter' (sweet and sad), 'Becoming Jane' (so sad but good)and 'Music and Lyrics' (funny). Basically I like a lot of films - I don't even mind RomComs despite my cynicism - they are just so easy to watch cos you always know what's going to happen!!! lol

Television:

Don't watch much TV - don't really have time!! Although I do quite like Supernatural (ITV program) as the lead actors are gorgeous!!! But they've put it on ITV3 now so I can't watch it :( !!! Also like 'Mock the Week', 'Room 101', 'Have I got news for you' 'Trial and Retribution', 'Waking the Dead', 'QI', 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Ugly Betty' but rarely get a chance to watch them. Looking forward to the Jane Austen series on Itv which starts this week, but they won;t beat BBC dramas I'm sure!

Books:

Love all the classics and classic authors - Austen, Brontes, Shakespeare, Dickens, Wilde, Hardy, Golding, James and Thackary. Basically I love a good well written novel no trashy holiday type books for me - something I can get my teeth into!!! Particular favourites are Pride and prejudice, Wuthering Heights, The Turn of the Screw, Beloved, The Woman in Black, Lord of the flies and The Importance of Being Earnest, and have just finished reading Tess of the d'Urbervilles which was good. Also am quite interested in stuff about learning styles and educational development - basically developmental psychology and also things about fitness and anatomy for the dancer, for my course.

Heroes:

Urm..... haven't really thought about this much. Basically I admire people who speak out for what they believe in, follow their hearts, and who work hard to become the greatest person they can be for themselves and those around them!!! Also, I really admire people who achieve against the odds and who don't let other peoples opinions or lack of faith in them stop them doing anything!!!Politically - I guess it would be all the usual suspects - Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Rosa Parks, Desmond Tutu, the suffragettes, and all those standing for peace and equality (not trying to sound 'Miss World'-like its just coming out like that! lol).Author-wise I Would have to say I quite admire Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde and such authors for their forward thinking ideas and attitudes in their writing. Especially regarding social inequality of the sexes and the idiocrisy of the class system, but am sure there are much more deserving authors who should be my heroes but can't think at the moment!!Dance wise - I really admire dancers who have not had it all handed to them on a plate and who have faced rejection and criticism and fought through it to become great - like Darcey Bussel (her height!). Also I just generally think Sarah Lamb, Federico Bonelli (also v.hot) and Carlos Acosta are great dancers. Also Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly were genius!!!People that I know - it sounds lame but guess my parents and my grandparents could be classed as my heroes too - because if I'm as well loved, valued and respected by my friends, family and general people I meet and have known as they are, when I'm 'grown-up' then I'll be a happy lady!!! Especially admire my grandfathers stance on war and pacifism!!!Lol think that's about it for now - but you got me thinking now!!! You know thats a dangerous thing, right?
