Growing up in a family that loves music has helped seed the foundation for Alysha Harker’s blossoming music career. And at 23 years of age, Alysha Harker of the small town Cawston British Columbia, Canada is now a highly focused performer with her sights firmly set on a career as a singer-songwriter, dancer and actor. Alysha began singing along to songs around the house at an early age and by the time she was six, her parents enrolled her into singing lessons. It wasn’t long before she began appearing in various local musicals. At eight years of age, she started dance lessons in jazz, ballet and hip hop. Piano and music theory followed and in 2002, she joined up with accomplished vocal coach Alexandra Babbel. Despite classical vocal training and growing up listening to country music, Alysha was discovered for her amazing “Celine Dion†Type Vocals. Alysha recorded and released a four-song CD entitled ‘In-A-Sense’ (which included three of her own compositions) and even produced, choreographed and starred in her own music video for the song ‘Boy Crazy.†At about the same time, Alysha was promoted her album around British Columbia promoting her Album with motivational speaker Darren Jacklin. She also performed in Inner City School’s giving children her age the ability to make dreams come true like she did. After graduating from high school, Alysha decided to pursue her performing career after being excepted to the prestigious Broadway school The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She said she took it without hesitation. “I thought it would be the best opportunity for me to experience and train in one of the most amazing cities in the world. I always knew I was going somewhere big to work on my goals, I just never thought it would be New York City.†Alysha said the experience has had a profound effect on her, teaching her some valuable life lessons. Particularly in getting in touch with a deeper sense of self that comes from leaving the comforts of a small town and being forced to adapt to life in one of the biggest cities in the world. “It really makes you think about who you are and what you want in life. It definitely put my whole life in perspective and showed me what it’s really like to be working on your dream every day without any other distractions.†Alysha graduated with honors after transferring to Los Angeles to study more On-Screen Acting and Recording.
Alysha is now finishing the last steps to recording her long awaited album. This new album will be hotter with more dance beats that will be shopped to major record labels once it is completed. Alysha has also been seen in various movies and TV shows such as Spike TV, CHBC, Nickelodeon and interviews with the playboy channel and is finishing details on a reality show based on the aquacabana girls in Las Vegas, She also has been featured in magazines such as Marie Claire, Aquacabana, 944, 21, and in LA weekly, She also has been modelling fulltime in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Alysha credits her family for helping to develop her talent, and as a result, it’s her family that remains extremely close. "They have supported me 110 per cent and I love them dearly,†she said. That kind of inspiration has translated into a burning desire for a major recording deal in the hopes of sharing her talent and good fortune with others. “I want to write music and share my life experiences with people so that I can move and inspire as many as I can.â€
