About Me

So, I have finally found a little bit of time to start to start to update my MySpace area. Well . . . it's only taken the best part of 2 years!

However, don't get too excited . . . . With my current updating record it may well be Christmas two-thousand and never before I get my act together here.

If you want to find out a bit more about my work on Ghosthunters or my TV and radio work in general, you can visit my website at: http://www.iancashmore.co.uk , or check out my IMDB listing here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1960375/

My Summer Of Scouting.
I have just got back from my voluntary stint as Media Centre Manager on Brownsea Island, which was a real life-changing experience for me.
I was asked to go there to cover the worldwide centenary celebrations to mark the start of Scouting exactly 100 years before in that very location. The media team on the island co-ordinated the largest coverage the Movement has ever known with Scouting appearing in hundreds of international newspapers, and on almost every worldwide radio and television station.
The most fundamental thing for me was that I was totally blown-away by how the 400+ kids chosen from around the world got along. Those 400 were chosen from the 40,000 who attended the World Jamboree in Essex, and enjoyed almost two weeks of fun. There were no arguments or fights, despite the obvious language differences.
The youngsters respected each other. . . . and that is something we might all learn from.

My Interests

Ghosthunting, or "ghostbusting" (although I hate that word with a passion!!!)

I do quite a bit of work in the media both on TV and radio, and I currently have a show in reruns on the Discovery Channel / Discovery Science: Ghosthunters (one-word), which started back in the late 1990's and was the original precursor to the US (sci-fi channel) Ghost Hunters show. (two-words!) However, I did film the original pilot for the american "Ghost Hunters" show in 2004, but did not pursue it, as I enjoyed my work in the UK too much, and I had a young family at the time. My media work now takes me all over the place, and Ghosthunters is aired right round the globe, as far afield as Australia, Canada, Africa, the USA and Europe. Back in October 2005 I was also proud to take on the continuting role of "paranormal expert" for the Sally Jessy Raphael radio show in the America, and I have just finished a major article for the Boston Globe in the USA. I am very busy most of the time with my TV and media work, but when I am at a loose end - I get on with running my own small publishing company, in Lincolnshire in the UK.

I'd like to meet:

Father Christmas, The Tooth Fairy, Mother Nature, God, or any other decent folk!

Music:

Varied taste.

Movies:

I love horror films, especially the old ones.

Television:

I love watching comedies as well as factual / documentaries. I have also been known to watch the odd episode of EastEnders (or dare I say it Emmerdale!!!)

Books:

I am a Stephen King fanatic, although I get very little time to read nowadays. I have about 6 books on the go, and I have been reading some of them for over 2 years

Heroes:

My brother Adam (11), who was killed in 1999. He was somebody who lived his life - despite adversity, and shone a great light into the hearts and lives of those who knew him. Rest in peace mate. X
