Tha CareTakuz

Tha CareTakuz are a Hip-Hop group consisting of members Michael Todd Kelly (Big Mike Mike, 22), a current student at Chattanooga State Technical College, and Charles Collins,III (Professa C, 19), a Recording Industry major at Middle Tennessee State University. The Chattanooga, Tennessee natives have been individually exercising their fervor for music at a young age yet collaborated as a group in the summer of 2003. Along with a concoction of soulful and charasmatic lyrics, the long-time family friends are known for their versastyle productions; hence, Tha CareTakuz. They have produced and written tracks for various Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B artists (even a Rock group out of Nashville) around the city. They have performed on numerous ocassions where three being talent shows. The first talent show was presented by H&R Records who offered Tha CareTakuz a signing deal after observing their talent and astonshing stage presence. The second was the Tennessee Apollo Night, given by TNs number one hypeman T. Boston. There, the group were grand prize winners and given an offer to perform in New Jersey. T Boston has also released a DVD of the showcase in local stores. The last talent show was sponsered by an unknown source; the show did not have as great of an affect as previous performances, however it was good exposure for the group. Tha CareTakuz have also performed at fashion shows and other featurettes at Chattanooga State. After releasing three mixtapes (one being conjoined with their camp called Chozen) that were independently financed, marketed and promoted, the self-producers decided to shop their demo, while in the process of completing their album. Though they are given oppurtunities to have their smash single Like Dat played at college parties and local clubs, Tha CareTakuz do not consider themselves to be apart of the Snap-Music era. While awaiting the proper deal, the group continues their grind by commencing another mixtape, producing more tracks for other artists, and expanding their knowledge of the music business.SparksProduction
