Thrasher Qawwal

Founded in 1987 by Larry Thrasher to accomidate the mystical Sufi ghazals of Meher Baba devotee Francis Brabazon (which were written in English under the direction of Meher Baba). In 1994 Chandra Shukla joined the ranks, then later the first live incarnation added Kosta Kross and Todd Mellors in 1998. Thrasher Qawwal and Party continues to produce uncomprimised devotional music inspired by the qawwali greats and Sufi mystical poetry naturally blended with Thrasher's own southern American roots and his mastery of India tabla beats.
