I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm married to the best thing that ever happened to me. My husband is a kind, gentle, intelligent man. He's my best friend as well as my partner in life for the past 25 years. He's always there for me and I can count on him for anything.

When I was 5 years old I told my dad that I wanted to be a fireman. The year was 1954 and my dad said that girls couldn't do that. Well, I did for about 21 years. I was able to do my dream job for many years, how many people can say that, not to mention that I found my life mate on a fire.I received serious injuries about 10 years ago and many thought that I would never walk normally again, but I did that too, I was able to run when I finally left the rehab hospital. I could not go back to fighting fires though. Since then, I have been plagued with my previous injuries and illnesses and am no longer able to work. Because of an illness, I can only have limited contact with other people. I have developed what is known as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity which is basically an allergic reaction to scented products. This condition can be lethal.I have very few friends, but most of the ones that I do have are friends of more than 20 years. I don't make friends easily. .----------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------UP DATE: Those of you who know me well are familiar with my medical condition of MCS. It seems to be getting much worse making it difficult to go anywhere and when I do I need to have someone else with me. I am basically a prisoner in my own home. When I go anywhere it has to be in my mind if it is worth the risk going there because at this point I am literally risking my life to go anywhere where we cannot control and reduce the risk of an exposure. One thing we don't want is for me to be taken to a hospital because I usually get re-exposed when I do. Renown exposed me 9 times during my stay for my knee replacement and last weekend I was in a hospital in Colorado I had a severe exposure from a nurse in the ER, even though she was aware I was allergic to perfume. I have started a group on Myspace for those who are interested in Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I always enjoy meeting other people. This video is me, the one thing I wanted to do in life and I was lucky enough to spend more than 20 years as a firefighter. I always enjoy meeting other people who love firefighting and share stories. Can't think of anyone I would really like to meet. I always enjoy meeting people who are involved with either firefighting or the military.Great Video from The American Widow Project (AWP), honoring all the families of our fallen heroes. Thanks for sending this Cassi, you are an awesome lady. Kyle was lucky to have you in his short life.

Just when things were going better!
