National Association of Chicken Wing Enthusiasts

About Me

1. The first annual National Buffalo Wing Festival was held over labor day 2002 in (where else but) Buffalo, NY. Approximately 45,000 people attended the two day event which featured a chicken wing eating contest, various chicken wing cooking competitions, and the crowning of the first ever "Miss Buffalo Wing".
2. It is widely believed that the first ever buffalo wing came from the kitchen of the Anchor Bar and Grill in 1964 in Buffalo, NY.
3. Not only can you order wing sauce from the Anchor Bar, but you can also have wings sent overnight to any location in the United States. Order them at the following website: http://www.buffalowings.com
4. Sonya Thomas, a 100 pound competitive eater from Virginia, holds the record for competitive wing consumption. During the qualifying round of the National Buffalo Wing Eating Championships in Buffalo, NY in September 2003, Sonya consumed a record breaking 134 wings in 12 minutes. See evidence of Sonya's feat at: http://www.ifoce.com/records.htm
5. If you lined up the wings that Hooters sells every year (30 million pounds) it would encircle Earth at the equator.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

We would like to meet any and all chicken wing enthusiasts, like ourselves. Here at NACWE, we are equal opportunity chicken wing eaters. As you can see, we are partial to Hooters and Dick's Wings, an upstate Florida chain. We will try any brand of chicken wing once and if it is comparable to Hooter's, it will definitely become a part of our normal menu.
