In september, 2005, Lonnel Benjamin created the Saints in Christ aka S.I.C for his senior recital at the University of the Arts. "The Saints in Christ" consists of 6 vocalists and a 6 piece band. Little did he know what God had in store for this group. While performing at different locations from neighborhood churches, to churches in the tri-state area, the Lord was molding this group not only for Lonnel's senior recital, but for other reasons: to spread the word of Jesus Christ through song. The group successfuly ministered at the University of the Arts on March 18th and touched all who came and supported. On April 1st, the African American Student Union hosted a Gospel Explosion in which Tamyya J, an upcoming Gospel recording artist (as well as special guest of the event) asked Saints in Christ to be her backup singers for the performance which was an honor. Now as the group continues to grow, build, and become true Saints in Christ, they continue to press on and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever they are allowed.
