About Me

The Tribal Troubadour, Mike Adams is the kind of musician who performs the moment when present and past meet, a moment that can't be captured only experienced. Adams lives his life true to his music; his songs reflect experiences that speak to all of us. Adams's songs about the fragile beauty of the disappearing plains and Western landscapes and their long-lost spiritual communities remind us of our American heritage. Songs about love and loss renew our trust in the kindness of a handshake and the humility of a thank you. Songs about the working class celebrate the integrity of hard work and the pleasure of working together. Songs about faith bring us to realize the importance of stopping and listening to ourselves in order to gain personal strength. All his song-stories recall our past youthful dreams and then propel us into the future, waiting to breathe in the next moment. His Americana style combines folk and country with jazz and blues in a dynamic acoustic sound, and when he performs, each song is infused with his own voice and unique musical arrangements.Prayers for the People: Carl Sandburg's Poetry and Songs. Mike's current project is a collaborative performance playing traditional Amercian folk music and includes Charles Peek reading Carl Sandburg's prairie poetry. Performances include Red Cloud, Broken Bow, and Republican City, Nebraska and full-scale perfromance at Kearney's Merryman Performng Arts Center in 2007 and 2008. Nebraska Educational Television has filmed the performance to air later in 2008.
