.. -- -- Hailing from Falkirk, Scotland, icon 66 is made up of a foursome of up and coming musicians who love eating junk food and having a good drink, Ross Beagley (Guitar, Vox), Scott Blackhurst (Guitar), Michael Mcilreavy (Bass), and Ryan Neish (Drums). The band name comes from an idea that was brainstormed after band members saw a shirt Tom DeLonge (Blink-182) was wearing that had "Con 40" appearing on it. After tossing around some ideas, Falkirk's finest is now known as icon 66.All musicians have influences on their music throughout their lifetimes, and with the likes of Blink-182, New Found Glory, Set Your Goals, and Four Year Strong listed as some of icon's influences, we can immediately determine they have begun to build upon a strong foundation.As for icon 66's music, the song intros will immediately get you hooked and then you will be thrown for a surprise that will make your head spin when Ross comes in with his trademarked punky vocals. The guitar and bass play is enough to blow you away with it's ferocity that amplifies from the speakers. Combine that with the punk-speed drumming of Ryan (The only original member of the band) and you automatically have your daily caffeine fix fed straight into your ears.Just imagine what icon 66 sounds like live. Their shows have been described as "full of energy and showmanship". You can bet your lifesavers that you will get a rush and be carried away on sound waves of electric brilliance.One of the hardest things about being a musician is coming up with ideas that sound fresh, but icon 66 is a prime example of how it's possible for a band to stay minty fresh with each and every tune they crank out. Outside of being musicians they are a fun bunch to be around as they love to laugh and just have a good time. They enjoy answering fan messages, and at the same time that's the most gratifying thing about being a musician. "Those e-mails in the morning after a gig telling you that you have done great and people coming to see us live, it means so much to us having people compliment what we do", says icon 66.Being famous and engaging in loads of touring is every bands dream. How could there be any better lifestyle? Icon 66, would love to have as many fans as possible hop on the bandwagon and join them for their journey through the music world.Determined is the one word to describe icon 66, and determined they are.
