Dennis Wilson and Erin Grayson are "The Trees" a Bossa Nova Duet based in Los Angeles California. Dennis Wilson has played with great Jazz musicians like Billy Higgins, Horace Tapscott, Micheal Sessions and cut his teeth in Jazz guitar on "The World Stage" in Leimert Park. He has traveled the world on the wings of music. With his versatile skills in Rock n' Roll, Jazz, Blues, Classical he can play his guitar any time and any place....He knew bossa nova would calm Erin down since he's always had a love for bossa nova. Dennis wrote the notes for her and taught her how to sing and play the notes very patiently... even though Erin would think she was playing the right note and get angry.....Practice so one day we can play this beautiful music together with other musicians...Dennis would say! This xylophone came along by chance around the same time Dennis and Erin were practicing their first songs together like: "Dindi". A neighbor at Lincoln Place discovered it was abandonded much like many of the apartments there. Dennis then purchased it. Much later,he found out it was an instrument called an Orchestra Bell. Dennis and Erin use two vintage drum machines with foot switches when they are plugged in and playing as a Duet. They sometimes change the beat from Rhumba to Bossa Nova to Samba and Beguine with a flick of an ankle. At certain venues where noise is an issue they play 100% acoustic and without mics/amps etc. The Trees are capable of expanding from a Duet all the way to a 12 piece Orchestra. Instrumentalists can include an upright bassist, drummer/percussionist, saxophonist, piano/organ, trumpet, violin and more.
