METALTOWN PRODUCTIONS

I am here for Networking

About Me

WE ARE SLUTTIER AND FUNNIER.We really, really like cookies. And pie. And shows. That's about it, but Britt said to write a bio so I'll just lay it down here. We met through mutual friends, but it was not until we were brought together to battle some big ass, chest eating, bastards of dire rats as a human/elf/half-elf and a halfling did we know what love would be born together. We started spending more and more time together, especially as the co-mayors of Metaltown, Mayors Caitlin Cookies and Britt Butter. We used to have kickass forum, you know. Then, Caitlin organized a party for her dearest babycake Rachael, where a friend's band played. And she realized she needed money for Warped Tour. So, they decided to throw an acoustic show that didn't actually happen until 3 months later. Shut up. But in the mean time, we made friends with people at the Landing Teen Centre, Caitlin + friends founded the REFUGEES FINE ARTS COMMITTEE with the help from the city of Coquitlam, one Beardly graduated and was killed by Columbian drug lords, got in contact with the Brat Attack, went to a bunch of shows, the stadium started tearing out grass, rooms at community centres cost too much, and somehow we're here. Skinny is we organize shows. DO YOU LIKE PICKLES? YES, I LIKE PICKLES. Yeah, just an additional note about us. Just because our name is Metaltown, we're not exclusively metal. We're metalheads. We're rude girls. We're the psycho-est billies you'll meet. We're into oodles of hardcore. We listen to Dimmu Borgir and Justin Timberlake and Pink Floyd and The Specials and Modest Mouse and Cancer Bats and Final Fantasy. We listen to everything and we want to do shows that showcase everything and everyone. So. Group hug? COMING SOON!We thought about it, and we realized that being dirty capitalists is a lot cooler than being dirt poor. Like, seriously, we DO NOT make any money off shows (except for the ones at Cornerstone). So to raise money to pay for pizza, gas money, venues that'll let us have bands over 18, lights, mics, XLRs, bribes, etc., we'll soon be selling Metaltown pins and other merch, as well as concession. Don't be surprised if you see a kissing booth at the next show. SO BRING YOUR GOD DAMN WALLETS AND SHOW SOME METALTOWN PRIDE!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

KIDS WHO WANT TO PLAY TINY-ASS SHOWS.

CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR:

HIGH SCHOOL BANDS

We're currently looking for kids to play at the Landing Teen Centre at Pinetree Community Centre. We've been doing these shows about once a month for almost a year now. If you're interested in playing, send us a message. You must be under the age of 18, or able to fake it.

ACOUSTIC ACTS

We're also looking for acoustic artists interested in playing a small coffee shop in Coquitlam, Cornerstone Coffee, right beside the library and City Hall. We're booking Saturday mornings/afternoons, and Friday nights are now reserved for regulars and BFFs. If you're interested, give us a shout.

FRESH MEAT

So we've started another schoool year, and that means that some of our bands have graduated. That's not going to stop some people, but we would like to be partially honest... SO, we are planning a fresh meat show for November. We're looking for bands who have never played a show before, never played outside of school before, or have only played one show before. Drop us a line if you're starting a new band, or are looking for a break!

PEOPLE WHO WILL DO ANYTHING TO PLEASE CAITLIN AND BRITT

If you like being abused for no reason, we want you to join the METALTOWN WRECKIN' CREW. We're looking for kids who will pass out posters and flyers, swamp the internet with our name, get us vanilla lattes and chai tea lattes, bring out all their homeboys, make human sacrifices, etc. If you join, we might even give you some perks...

For the losers without Myspace, you can reach us at [email protected]
