Lance Rhoads is a drummer/songwriter/arranger, currently based out of Dallas TX. Starting as a live drummer and a few years grinding it out in the self proclaimed, “Live music capitol of the world†Austin, Texas, Lance was offered a national tour with Denver based Hammers Rule. Headlining theaters and halls across the U.S.Lance later joined Dallas based rock band Shocking Mary. The band was soon signed to Clockwise Records that at the time also housed future multi-platinum band Drowning Pool. Shocking Mary delivered 3 records to the label in 5 years - receiving radio play in multiple areas and playing hundreds of shows and events all over the southwest with the likes of Eric Johnson, Haji’s Kitchen, Drowning Pool, Pimpedelic, Kevin Martin (Candelbox) The Hunger, Live and Vallejo among others. The band was subsequently offered a deal by Warner Bros. subsidiary E-World Entertainment headed by former Death Row Records producer Erotic D
(Dr. Dre, The DOC, Six Two). but the deal could not be worked out and the group disband. Lance soon accepted offers for gigs and session work, doing everything from country sessions with Nashville pros to live rap beat tracks for Erotic D’s other artist sessions.Lance then joined super hard funk band Mr. Lucky, with Emmy award winning guitarist Josh Goode who would go on to score a Hollywood movie score last year.In 2006 & 2007 Lance recorded tracks for a Dallas based project that included ex- Filter bassist Frank Cavanagh.
