Influences: My greatest influence is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. (Matthew 16:16)
The love of my life, my husband, Bob, who fearlessly leads me into uncharted territory.
In the beginning, when I was about 6 years old, music got my attention. I know I'm dating myself here but ... do any of you who lived through the '60s remember the hootenanies with the New Christie Minstrels, Simon and Garfunkle when they were called Tom and Jerry, Joan Baez, Buffy St. Marie, the and Smothers Brothers? Just to name a few. Well that musical variety show started it all. Of course you understand that at the time, being only 6 years old I had no idea that this show was extremely controversial, politcally speaking. All I know is that there came some great music from that Saturday night show and I was never the same. I ran up and down the hallway singing folk tunes like John Henry and If I had a Hammer.Today I look back and have a keen sense that my musical history rests on that introduction to harmony and rhyme. Since then some really great musicians have inspired me. The list would be way to long to put down here. If you really want to know send me a message and we'll chat. :)
Christian artists that have inspired me include: Duane and Terry Clark, Bob Bennett, Chris Falson, Paul Baloche, Lisa Wickham, Kim Hill, and Mary Barrett for various reasons. Mostly because each one has a unique and intimate way of putting lyric to melody and a passion to worship and lead others into the presence of the Lord.
Special thanx to my Junior Hi vocal teacher, Edwin Grace who taught me the joy of singing and making music with others.
I love all great music, from bluegrass to the blues. Jazz to Opra, Gregorian Chant and Chamber music. From gospel, pop, folk and barbar shop to country and alternative. Oh and don't forget the Classical greats!
Sounds Like: Cosima. No, not that other Cosima in Australia! Boy can she sing, wow!
