----------Brief Bio----------
For Bruce Catto, DJ'ing has never been about mixin a few tunes, it's about doing somethin a little bit different, and seperating himself from the rest.
Playing in venues all over Scotland for the past 10 years both his unique track selection and mixing ability has been praised by many dj's and crowds alike.
Holding residencies in his hometown of Aberdeen at Love Child ('97-99) Joy ('98 - 2003) Drum (2000 - Oct 2006) and now IVY (2007+) he has a reputation of playing the right track selection for the right time of nite, either warming up for the many Guest DJ's he has played with, or peak time slots rockin the crowd till 3am.
Since feb 2005, Bruce has adapted his set to incorporate the ground breaking Ableton Live software, controlled using various midi devices. Using his unique customised setup he is setting new standards within the electronic music circuit and is constantly raising the bar.
Ableton allow's Bruce to remix and re-edit tracks live, in effect bringing the DJ and producer closer together and taking DJ'ing to another level.
"I've gone from mixing one vinyl/cd into the next to completely re-editing, effecting and remixing tracks during a set. Using this technology allows me to be more creative than simply selecting and mixing tracks. You can sample and edit the arrangement of the music, effect it in ways that enhance the track and the performance. You can add bits and take away bits as you please virtually remixing the music on the fly. When necessary that is, sometimes it..s nice to play a track the way it was intended to be heard but having those options means more options as a DJ and more fun for me!"
