BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG
lead singer started his music career back in the early childhood, boldly walking the road from a young performer of songs from Broadway musicals to the voice of St. Jimmy and Jesus of Suburbia. He plays Blue, he sings loud and he knows how to speak his mind.Billie Joe Armstrong was born On February 17, 1972 and is 35 years old. He was the youngest of six children.
His mothers name is Ollie Armstrong and Fathers name was Andy Armstrong, who (sadly) passed away when Billie Joe was just 10 years of age. His parents and siblings introduced him to music which became a major part of his life from early childhood. This served as a path not only to his successful career in show-business, but also to the creation of his own family. He met his future wife Adrienne Nesser during a tour with his band when they stopped in her hometown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Armstrong and Nesser got married in 1994 and now have 2 sons - Joseph Marciano and Jakob Danger. As said before, young Billie Joe was interested in music right from the start and recorded his first song called Look for Love at the age of 5. That was a recording for a local label Fiat Records and was only a beginning of his way towards worldwide fame. As a child, Armstrong was often singing in hospitals, which gave him great experience as well as broadened his musical outlook since he had to sing songs from musicals and other types of songs he would have never performed otherwise. First he learned to play the piano and then at the age of 10 he got his first guitar as a present from his father - that was the famous "Blue", which has become a legend over the years. With the development of his career, Armstrong acquired more and more instruments and equipment and now owns a variety or different guitars, as well as a few copies of Blue itself. When young Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt formed their first band called Sweet Children it was only a local band that wasn't much different from dozens of others like them. However, they obviously had enough talent to get themselves a record deal and eventually get signed on a major label. As a songwriter and member of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong has become one of the most influential people in punk rock music. However, his career is not limited to Green Day only. He has various side projects as well as his own label Adeline Records which he created with his wife Adrienne. Aside from that, the musician also tried himself in acting - he played the leading part in a controversial puppet movie Live Freaky! Die Freaky! and was in a episode of hauntingAll of Armstrong's show-biz achievements are only a part of what attracts attention to his life and career. Ever since Green Day became famous, the band's lead singer and guitarist has been adored and desired by thousands of people not only because of his talent, but also because of his looks. His green eyes and unforgettable facial features along with constantly changing hair-styles and countless tattoos have been a source of endless interest and fascination for Armstrong's fans and groupies. However, you don't need to be madly obsessed with him to realize that his tattoos are truly amazing because they are so different.Lately, Green Day have become a lot more peaceful, grown-up and wise. They no longer act like brainless kids that punk rock is commonly associated with. However, they've always identified themselves with punk, not only in music, but also as a life style. As well as his band mates, Armstrong has done a lot of crazy things which left a mark not only in the history of punk rock, but also in his medical history. From starting the notorious mud fight to falling off the stage - Billie Joe and the band have caused and experienced quite a few accidents throughout their career. Each next album or project reveals a new side of Armstrong's talents, as a songwriter, lyricist and even actor. Surely he has a lot more to give, and we will soon see what it is - all we need to do is wait for the next step he takes in his amazing career.MIKE DIRNTMichael Ryan Pritchard, or Mike Dirnt as he is known to his fans, was born on May 4th, 1972. From the start Mike didn't have the greatest childhood, and was put up for adoption because of his birth mother's heroin addiction. The foster home he was placed in decided they couldn't bear to part with him, and later adopted him. When Mike was seven, his parents separated and Mike and his sister moved to Rodeo, California, where he would meet his best friend and lifetime musical partner, Billie Joe. The two met up in the school cafeteria, and hit it off extremely well, seeing as how they both had a massive interest in music. Pretty soon they began jamming together at Billie's house and the music of all the wicked eighties rock bands like Kiss and AC/DC began to warp their lives. After an endless amount of covers, Mike picked up bass and they decided they had to form a band, which they would eventually call Sweet Children.Just when things seemed to be perking up, Mike's mom hit him with some bad news. Life in California, particularly The Bay, was expensive, and being a single mother she couldn't afford it. Mike said that he couldn't leave, and she understood. Even though his mother was gone, Mike moved into Billie Joe's house, where his Mom knew he would have a safe home with Billie's family, with his siblings and his mother Ollie. Now that he was able to stay in The Bay, music became their whole life. The very first day after Mike graduated, Sweet Children went on their first tour. Things were going amazingly well for the band and Mike was becoming the best bass player in the history of forever, but they were about to hit a bump. John, their drummer was leaving the band, but this only left room for Tré Cool to hop aboard. When Dookie blew up and became an enormous success, Green Day was in high demand. One place they were wanted was Woodstock 94. Woodstock was a rock festival packed with chaos and craziness. So crazy in fact, that a gigantic mud fight had erupted and resulted in Mike being tackled and having to get emergency dental surgery. In fact, Mike has been through a lot of mishaps and accidents during his career. After the release of Insomniac, Mike married his long time girlfriend, Anastasia. The two had a child together in April of 1997, named Estelle-Desiree. Mike and Anastasia's relationship began to crumble and despite their best efforts, they couldn't fix it, which resulted in them getting a divorce. After his marriage to Anastasia, he married again in 2004 to a girl named Sarah, but due to all the time in the studio, they couldn't remain together. He is currently dating a girl named Brittney Cade who can often be seen attending award shows and supporting Mike. To show just how much he loves Brittney, Mike has her name tattooed on his arm. Brittney's name isn't the only tattoo Mike has either; he has plenty.Over the years, Mike has become an extraordinary bass player, and such an excellent bass player needs equally good equipment.Aside from Green Day, Mike is involved in quite a few little side projects. He has his own Café, a band called The Frustrators which has released 2 EP's, and his own signature bass.Mike is a rock idol to all kinds of bands and has inspired so many people to pick up an instrument and just have fun. From 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours to American Idiot, he plays an important role in Green Day and is part of the glue that keeps the band playing together.TRE COOLThe artist formerly known as Frank Edwin Wright the Third graced this planet the 9th of December, 1972. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany, but spent his childhood growing up in Mendocino Mountains with his father and siblings.Growing up in a remote region, his nearest neighbor was a little out of place seeing as how most people hated the type of music he lived for: Larry Livermore, the founder of the Punk label Lookout! Records. At the age of only 12, Tré had joined his very first band, the Lookouts, with Larry on guitar and vocals, Kain Kong on bass, and Tré playing drums. of course. After recording 2 LP's (One Planet One People and Spy Rock Road) and 2 EP's (Mendocino Homeland and IV) The band started crumbling around the Early 90's, around the same time John Kiffmeyer left Green Day. Tré hopped aboard and the early days of Green Day's extreme ability to rock out together had begun.Touring with Green Day must be one big giant laughing spasm, because with Tré Cool, there is never a dull moment, which isn't surprising seeing as how he attended clown college for a while. Even in high school, he was the comedian, but accidents will happen. While performing on stage, Tré fell off his unicycle and it resulted in him having to undergo surgery to have one of his nuts chopped off, gee, isn't that a story to tell your kids someday...Not all of Tré's comic actions ended so tragically. On one of Green Day's first tours, they were staying at a house with plenty of coffee; the only issue was that there wasn't any milk. In the mind of Tré Cool, the only logical thing to do was milk the dog, which Mike later commented on by saying, "You didn't tell everyone it was a boy dog." Well, whatever floats his boat.Aside from drumming, Tre has a knack for writing "catchy" little songs with an attitude of their own.As if drumming and writing isn't enough, Tré has yet another accompishment under his belt, that in my opinion, is worthy of a Nobel Prize. Cheech, as it has come to be called, is Tré's latest creation, inspired by Cheech from the infamous duo Cheech and Chong.A common hobby amongst the guys in Green Day seems to be getting creative and entertaining tattoos, and Tré Cool is no exception to this.Over the years, Tré has continued to amuse his fans with his words of wisdom such as, "I can suck my own", telling the youth of the nation to snort doughnut sprinkles, and astounding us with his magnificent philosophies such as "I don't understand what Billie just said so, I'll talk about chickens." There you have it folks, if you don't understand life, make reference to chickens.
