How I made my profile:

The History:
I met David in Milan in Feb. 1998. By the end of that year, he had done two European tours with June of 44 as our sound engineer. So after 50 shows of working together and a recording session at his Sound Machine Recording, we had become good friends.
By 2000, Jo.44 was silent and I was living in New York City playing music with friends and driving a truck for a living. By 2001, I was itching to leave NYC and get back to Europe. I contacted David, and he replied with news of his new studio Red House...and an offer to make a record with him and his friends Laundrette. By May, my wife and I were on a plane to Rome.
David and I spent 10 days searching through our riffs for songs, what we found we presented to Laundrette, and after another 10 days of recording and a week of mixing, we had our first record. Even though we didn't know who would put it out, the work was finished and the Girl and I left for China, but that's another story. Eventually, Gammapop would release our first record.
So now 3 years later we have another record and we've all become close friends. Our music in my mind is a testament to the importance of extended communities. I believe that through the experiences we've all shared with playing shows together and making these 2 records that we are all fuller people. Our cup is more than half full. We've experienced the music as a vehicle for discovery and we are still learning.

La Storia:
Red House Blues Revue si formano in un caldo pomeriggio di inizio giugno del 2001 negli studi della Red House Recording di Senigallia (Ancona), grazie all'incontro tra l'ex June of'44 Sean Meadows (guitar/voice), geniale mente chitarristica di una delle band più affascinanti di tutta la scena post-rock americana, e David Lenci (guitar/voice), talentuoso ingegnere del suono e fonico live di celebri bands italiane quali Uzeda e Three Second Kiss, nonché guitar player dei psichedelici Nicotine Spyral Surfers sul finire degli anni '80/primi '90.
A completare l'incontro sono i Laundrette, ovvero Marco Carlini (drums), Massimo Bartera (bass) e Lucio Febo (guitar), pronti a restituire al gruppo una proficua collaborazione all'insegna di una spontaneità artistica.
In poco tempo le chitarre e le voci di Sean e David sono riuscite a smussare gli spigoli dei primi silenzi. Sono infatti bastate alcune sedute di improvvisazione perché la contaminazione tra generi risultasse costruttiva all'arrangiamento e i linguaggi sonori lasciassero spazio alla registrazione di 7 tracce, punto di partenza di un percorso destinato ad ulteriori sviluppi.
Di fondamentale importanza, poi, è stato l'apporto dato da Fabio Verdini (Gang) all'organo Hammond e da Luca Vannicola alle percussioni.
Registrato in tempi record, grazie anche alla pregevole produzione artistica di Andreas Venetis, il disco, omonimo, esce nel 2002 per la Gammapop Records (distribuzione Self), ottenendo subito entusiastiche recensioni.
Anche dal vivo la band non si smentisce. Le esibizioni live esprimono trame sonore in un circuito severo fatto di elettricità groovin' rock e di alchimie psichedeliche che esplodono in sonore fisicità vibranti, accattivanti riffs che sul palco si uniscono al calore dell'immediatezza e alla disarmante spontaneità del Rock'n'Roll.
I video "Brooklyn..42", frutto di deliziose riprese di Ruth Chon di New York durante il tour in Italia e in Spagna nell'autunno del 2002, a cui ha fatto seguito un raffinato montaggio, e "Broken Machine" (aprile 2004), anticipano entusiasticamente il nuovo disco uscito nel settembre del 2004 per la Lake Records/Load Up Records e distribuito da Venus. Registrato in presa diretta, le 10 tracce di "Essential Ordinary Revolution" disegnano nuove trame chitarristiche, graffianti sonorità immerse nelle suggestioni del momento e si uniscono ad immagini che si respirano ad occhi chiusi. Nell'ottobre del 2004 la band si esibisce in 10 date italiane (il booking è stato affidato ad Indigena Management) insieme ai californiani Enablers, nel tentativo di rivivere le calde atmosfere di un anno prima.
Restate in ascolto dunque.
